Hi guys, I dont know anything about the ACMA virus or its origin, but before anyone fries me for not researching before I post a thread, the news article i'm using as a link here was posted today on nine msm and sounds to me as MSM hysteria.
I'm just asking for some opinions on all angles. cheers.

The FBI took down the hackers' servers and replaced them with its own as a temporary measure but the replacement servers are to be turned off on Monday, July 9.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority estimates about 6000 Australian computers are still affected by the virus

There's a discussion going on in another thread about this being a huge false-flag event by the American DHS to institute the Internet Kill Switch. Now that's hysteria.

The fact is there are probably at least 6000 idiots in Australia who either have reading-comprehension problems or haven't heard about this or won't care until it affects them. Whatta ya gonna do?

As far as I can tell, the article you cite is accurate and states a few simple facts. There's a link in the article where you can test your own machine. All it does is look at your DNS settings to see if they match one of the compromised servers. If not, you're OK. Otherwise you need to deal with it.

Unless you want to be #6001....
