The two countries Bush 'attacked and took over' were two of the most vile, repressive, un-'progressive' societies this world has ever seen. The Taliban, where women were slaves, people grew opium to survive, and anyone who dared to not be Muslim was executed. Iraq, a totalitarian fascist state, run for decades by the socialist Baath party, a coterie of criminals who tortured and enslaved their people with impunity. Saddams henchmen would rape newlywed women, monopolized all the oil wealth for themselves to live lavish lifestyles while their people starved, and there is not a family unscathed by the unimaginable hell of dungeons and torture chambers.

I think Leftists secretly admire these societies, theres something about a government with total power that appeals to them.

I would highly recommend you read this link...

It's bullet point form of what Bush has said, and under what bush says this guy has written his comments, which are factual....This guy is brilliant he has wicked comebacks, sarcastic overtones, but again, he's a brilliant man.

That is quite astonishing to read! I know we are all free to think whatever we like, but I can't help but wonder what on earth could lead you to formulate such an idea. I'm not being funny or anything; I really would like to know what sort of thought-processes could lead you to such a remarkable conclusion!

Thats a quote I took out of the guys' writing.... It's to draw the reader in, so that they can go read his website, it is an excellent piece of journalistic writing, or editorial writing rather. It is really well put together..

I'm going to assume you didn't read it since you just quoted that one part, if you read it you wouldn't have to ask WHY.

Well, I did read it. And though the author does make some valid points in other parts of this link, I definetly agree with Oddfellow when it comes to the first argument; which incidentally is the one you chose to quote. The author must really have taken some quite amazing logical leaps to arrive at the argument he presents there and I absolutly wouldn't call that quote an example of excellent journalistic writing.

And that's your opinion, I have mine... so there.

If you look that quote is at the end of the first paragraph, right after he finishes talking about Iraq and the Taliban, ect ect...

You didn't read the whole either I can tell...

Yep. I did read that part as well. I still say the author has made huge logical leaps here

Of course I have read the whole "article". Twice. I would still like to understand how such a broad conclusion can be reached rationally.
"...secretly admire..." ! My arse. It is impossible to defend against such a paranormal assertion.
Sorry.

I personally believe the left believe in the power to the majority, with the govt providing many services to the people and who are accountable to the people while the right believe power should be in the hands of the few, the rich and the corporations who get handouts and exploit the masses

thanks,
