And common sense should tell you,
never shop there if,
the return/refund lines,

And Wall-mart greeters,
were rubbing pregnant women belly's long before,
the greeters in the airport!
I can't tell the difference between a Wall-mart greeter,
and a TSA agent.

Who says I shop at walmart? There you go again jumping to conclusions and making rash assumptions......you should probably refrain from doing so, it makes you look hateful and and again ignorant.

Only a Wal-mart shopper gets offended in "Wal-mart" threads… and your offended.
calling someone ignorant is hateful… your showing your true colors and it's not red white and blue!

I know quite a few young adults working at wal-mart and going to school, one of which is working on a PHD....

Wal-mart does not pay enough for college, they make them work part time… not even enough to feed themselves, most drop out of school or find a better job….. sorry the truth hurts ya!

Enough said...

And yet more generalizations........so only people who shop at walmart can be offended by people who make gross generalizations? Wow , well my friend you never cease to amaze me......more generalizing....yet again.....

I shop at farmers markets , and get most of my other things from either online retailers or custom made, but , thanks for more drivel

Walmart doesnt pay enough for college? You do know that people get grants for college and work at the same time dont ya?

Do you even research of think before you post or is it all just hateful rhetoric?

I know a mother of 2 who works at walmart , and tho her apartment is small, she feeds her children......and they get by , albeit not well off, shes damn sure not living in a shanty and starving like you make them out to be

Yep truth hurts doesnt it

You and I agree on quite a few other threads, on this one perhaps we agree to disagree

wal-mart employs a-lot more then one thinks.
not just in stores, but the many distribution centers. they hire outside trucking companies to haul their freight.
i'am a driver who hauls freight all the time for wal-mart. at least one load a week. sometimes two or three.
i work for a company who employs more than 10,000 drivers. think about how many people wal-mart indirectly employs. not just company drivers either, but independent owner operators.

keep bashing capitalism and you will get what you wish for.... misery

So you think we should just act like nothing wrong and allow trade deficit continue like it is. Its not just mfg jobs that are being outsourced, office jobs are being sent as fast as they can to countries like India all in the name of cheap labor and higher profits.

Its time for American's to take a stand. No reason we should allow corporations to have so much pull in our government. We should of never allowed free trade agreement to be signed, they have done nothing but ruin this country for corporate greed.

The real Irony is that it's people from that generation that have helped mould the world into the way it is now. Do you think all of those people that were 18 in 1968 just disappeared?
No they turned into the politicians / business owners / bankers / stock brokers and everyone else that oversaw the Reagan / Thatcher years and made everything in the world about profit.

All of their peace and love ethos got thrown out of the window when they got the chance of owning a Porche and a house

Damn hippies

Small town killer is right. I am from one of those towns.

Who needs bombs when you have cheap plastic and pot-metal junk?

I'm tired of looking at plastic 'corporate' trashy junk. Please bring back creativity and some personality to our products. Does everything have to come from China??

I have already found that shopping locally is less expensive than Wal-Mart. Now this isn't to say that I don't still shop at Walmart, guilty as charged. But say produce for example, I go to a smaller place 20'ish minutes away. They have fresher, better produce, and it's less expensive. Problem is that even our other grocery stores are still large corporations. Kroger (King soopers for me), Safeway, and Albertsons.. There are not really any small local markets, well there is a small hispanic market and one small asian grocery store, but not somewhere that I could get the staple foods.

So say I stop shopping at walmart..and buy groceries at Kroger, Target, Safeway, or where ever...are these companies really any better? Like others have said most stores carry identical things (cheap) all made in china. There is hardly any quality anymore..

Lately, I have been trying to buy local and shop on etsy for the girls clothing..even though the fabric is made in china (im sure) at least it's made by a crafter here in the USA. This not consuming and thinking about each and every purchase is sometimes frustrating..it's hard to transition..but I am working on it. We are really stuck with so few choices other than online. We have very few grocery stores other than walmart..or kroger.

All of these stores sell pretty much the exact same products. I would say Wal Mart's prices 8 out of 10 times are lower for the same product. I remember back in the 1990s the Wal Mart stores had a whole section of the floor dedicated to USA made products. The only store at the time that even did that. But nobody was buying.

Wrong. You are brainwashed.
The products sold by Walmart are not the same.
Might be same brand but the products you think are the same are made exclusively for Walmart. In other words made with lower quality in china.
I don't have a source for this to link. I'm not at my computer but you can find this information on the truth. There's a website online, forgot the name, that exposes them.

Another reason they can sell for less is they buy damaged freight, stuff that should have been discarded. They're dumpster divers.

Everything you buy there falls apart. So you go there and buy another, spending more than you would, had you shopped at another store in the first place. That's the mentality their shoppers have always thinking they got a bargain. Never knowing that you can actually have products that last for years. Thry actually start believing nothing ever lasts. Never knowing that some of the better stores they shun, do in fact have great sales, if only they would look in those flyers to price check, instead of only looking at walmarts ads. Yes this is more favorable if you live in a large city, there's more options.

What???? So...for example..rubbermaid makes different plastic containers for walmart than they make for say Target? Suave shampoo is "different" at walmart than the same bottle at other stores? Other than clothing and great value stuff what is different--

My husband - who needs a job - recently was offered one at both walmart and at Kroger.

Walmart offered 7.25- that's minimum wage- and 10-20 hours a week. Nonflexible schedule. "We don't have many full time positions, and the ones we do generally don't come open."

Kroger offered 7.30 an hour, 12 hours a week, nonflexible schedule. "Someone will have to quit before you can get more hours. We're hiring 13 more today but they are all part time." He was there on time for the interview, but they scheduled everyone at the same time, so it took 3 hours for him to wait to get his. He had written full time or part time with Tues/Wed off.

So he had to turn them both down, as he has some part time work now that pays better than that and he has to be sure he can keep THAT.

Now, keep in mind he has a 26 year work history, and solid skills - he was making 27/hr before the economy went to pot.

Now I was shopping more at Kroger b/c I thought they were better to their folks. I'm not so sure they are now though. Of course that is what we have here - Walmart and Kroger.

It's a race to the bottom. The ma and pa shops can't get to the bottom nearly as fast as these corporate plantation owners.
