Really hope it goes ahead mate and get's the support it deserves - you can count on my support.

My misgivings are more to do with being let down so many times in the past when people have said they are going to protest etc - and I know you are more than aware of this yourself.

As I said before, let's hope this is the catalyst that wakes this nation and is the start of something big.

Here is an example

And another

I know these lads... Believe me.. Its on!

Are soldiers more important then doctors? Could we function with a smaller army? Should pensioners get a free bus pass? On and on it goes .
Unless we can print money indefinitely without real world implications ie inflationary,
interest rates on Gilts etc.

Should we increase tax during a recession to support functions we can't afford? which affects consumption and growth in the economy increasing unemployment.

We are 'skint' or 'skintish' and balancing this cluster---k, is going to hurt.

tax take 500bn, total spending 700bn, deficit 200bn, national debt 1.3tn. [ approx]

(£ billions) 2010-11

Benefits and Pensions 202.6
Health 104
Education 69.2
Debt interest 42.9
Defence 36.7
Local government 30.8
Scotland 26.1
Law and Order 19.6
Wales 14
Northern Ireland 9.9
EU contributions 7.9
Transport 6.4
International aid 6.2
Other departments 125.4

Total government
spending 701.7

Where the hell were you when the rest of the country was being screwed ?
Where the hell were you when innocents were being slaughtered ?
Where the hell were you whilst the Americans were kidnapping (er, sorry, RENDITIONING) uk citizens ?
Oh yes, safely in employment. Only now when you've been affected you want to stand up for RIGHTS

S&F to help bring this to more peoples attention, for caring & for having the balls to set these balls rolling. I wont be able to make it to London but have applied to the open face book page (set up only a few hours ago and already with 1170 members) to try and get a protest arranged in our corner of the country, at our cenotaph on the 24/7/2012 at 11:00am.

Let's show the conron & his cronies just how we all feel about their huge mistakes.

Well this is the issue...this government is going through just about every group going and hitting them hard.
Mostly the poor and vulnerable but yes, even police, doctors and so on have got some aggro.
We've seen every group take to the streets in their few thousands at a time.

The students, the disabled, the police, the teachers, the doctors and nurses....

We need to stand TOGETHER

Getting hold of all the money "lost" in tax avoidance and evasion would be a good start.
Making sure businesses and banks paid the full UK tax

Times are hard.... the nation and basically the world is screwed... NONE of it is our fault, it was caused by greed and corruption and lack of regulations.
It wont be fixed by screwing the most vulnerable in society.

Some big banks will fail... they WILL fail.

This crisis will get worse.

*sigh*

if you read the thread you will understand that it is pending on the outcome of parliamentary decision.

i don't think the filth are going to kettle the squaddies without a hospital bed reserved.

evan, perhaps a walk routed through the financial district may be in order, i know the boys can stomach the politician/banker rimjobs and it would sure rattle the suits if all they got were silence and stares.

it has been a humbling experience to have known and shared time with the warriors that have passed on. the few who are left, well they know where my heart lays as much as i know theirs.

best wishes to all the brave men and women who stood for something beyond the scope of numbercrunchers.

Getting screwed in ways you couldn't understand.

Trying to stop the innocents from being slaughtered whilst being slaughtered themselves.

Watching their mates being killed by American freindly fire, or going into the towns torn apart by the spray and pray gung ho US Military and trying to pick up the peices for the same innocents you spoke about above. Before that they were learning about how to combat terror thanks to the US government sponsored shipments of arms and weapons to terror groups in Northern Ireland, something I'm sure EvanB can tell you more about.

My bank screws me over with bank charges, what do you suggest? Call in an RAF Tornado in response? Food prices are going up and people are losing their jobs, nevermind because I can just dial the coordinates to a Type 45, right?

Sounds stupid right? Not as stupid as having the military mutiny before the # actually hits the fan, as you would love.

Nobody voted for the wars...

Many, many marched against them though, In fact the biggest demonstration in decades.... the nation was pleading NOT to go to war.

The British army didn't march with us when we objected to Tony Bliar's wars.

It is tough luck your elite masters have stitched you up.

*groans* Thanks for taking the time out to read my post, and to understand that I was trying to suggest that being British comes from everything we've done in the last 1000 years to make us what we are, not what group/tribe invaded or bred the population of this country.

I like how you neglect to talk about how the military assist our people in times of crisis. When towns are flooded, and lives are destroyed our Military gets on the scene and saves lives quicker and more effectively than the civilian emergency services. How many thousands of Merchant Seamen are alive today thanks to the RAF Sea Rescue?

Indeed.

The only people who haven't protested recently have been those complicit in the screwing over of this country and it's people for far too long now - the politicians, senior civil servants, bankers, corporate bosses, judiciary and MSM etc.

Whilst the citizens of this country are being slowly bled to a death of a thousand cuts they have been wallowing in their increased profits and salaries inside their fenced off private estates.

You are right, it's time to stand united - but not just against these unnecessary cuts but also the system that has allowed these injustices to go on for far too long now.

When they put increased profits, political idealogy and social engineering before the security of the nation well, enough is simply enough.
