Hi all .. I am from Australia. I have an interest in History (I have a degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Tasmania) I also have an interest in Religious ideas (predominantly Christian) but will look at others as well .. for example the Indian writings .. or parts of them anyway.

Ok the question: for a long time ..since an early age I have always thought that Humanity could have been around for much much longer than "scientists" say. I dont believe in Evolution as taught in schools but rather a mixture of evolution and creationism. In other words I believe that God created us but in that aspect evolution could have a place. I dont believe in the young earth theory .. Anyway .. With the predominant aspect of different cultures having allusions to Nuclear warfare in the past .. ie the vedas and the sumerian writings .. and the bible, if you believe that Sodom and Gomorrah could have been destroyed by Nuclear weapons ( I think this could be), I was wondering if ... if over time the areas of Nuclear strikes could eventually decay into areas which become places where we now mine Uranium??? Could it be possible?? Considering that the places where uranium can be mined are small in size .. for example small areas of the Australian continent, North America (i think there may be mines there .. not sure though) .. and in Northern Russia.. and maybe South Africa.. It seems as though the places where Uranium occurs "naturally" seem to be too sparse for it to be natural. Anyway that is my theory. Just a thought .. looking forward to some replies and thoughts. Thanks for reading...

Welcome to ATS. You're in the right spot. Can I bounce a theory off of you? Could we have been "seeded" here on this planet by an advanced civilization? Like after we screwed up royally on Mars?

Good question.. I dont see why we could not have been seeded here. If you take Zacharia Sitchins works at face value we may not have been seeded but rather created by an advanced being(s) from another world. As for myself .. I am not totally convinced by his argument but then I havent finished reading all of his works at this moment. As for mars. well we have meteors from mars. They show bacterial life in them (or at least that is what was said) .. I think that the next few mars probes will find bacteria on Mars. However I dont know if the Sun was hotter at an earlier stage in the solar system. Mars is way outside the comfort zone.... Mind you that does not mean that it could not have supported more advanced life in the past. I do think that something hit Mars or at least glanced it .. hence the massive canyon on the face of mars. This would also explain the meteorites from Mars that we have found in Antarctica.

Now having said all of that .. none of this precludes creation
I think we were still created either by God or an advanced race .. if by the latter then they were created by a "God" hence creation still works
I do think that Michael Cremo may be right

Welcome to ATS. I personally believe we, as a species on Planet Earth, have gone through multiple cycles of advanced civilization to the cave, advancing again. Also there is much to the concept that we' were originally a seeded species, to be considered.

As to what we've been taught regarding humanity and how we got here........nope don't buy it....

Hi Des. He he ... we can never know for certain how we got here. After all even evolution is still a theory. Sorry if you disagree with that. Yes our species has gone through many eras of High Civilisation and then back to caveman. Maybe this time we can stop that cycle ...but I doubt it. The species has to change inside our minds to such an extent that we all need to seek peace rather than war. That is the main thing that is stopping us from breaking this cycle. Thank you for the welcome

Hi Atombombchicken thanks for the welcome. Yes we have been created. But where is my question... ha ha .. I think that there is some case for seeding but in what form .. I can not believe that we are the only species with civilisation. The Universe is way tooo big for there not to be other peoples out there. he he our Galaxy is way too big for there not to be some neighbours around us.

Good stuff lots to learn ...

I have pondered this theory myself often. Any chance you could point out a good thread or two on this subject?

To the OP welcome to ATS.

Here's a little info I found on Uranium mining.

www.world-nuclear.org...

Uranium is a naturally occurring element with an average concentration of 2.8 parts per million in the Earth's crust. Traces of it occur almost everywhere. It is more abundant than gold, silver or mercury, about the same as tin and slightly less abundant than cobalt, lead or molybdenum. Vast amounts of uranium also occur in the world's oceans, but in very low concentrations.

Hi IpsissimusMagus thank you for that info. Ha ha well that blows my theory out of the mud
he he thanks .. well it was just a thought .. I honestly did not think uranium was that common.

Thanks for the welcome. Ah well I have many more theories and I am looking on this site for anything that might answer questions that I have.
