Hey guys. I need some help. My Sanyo HDTV shows a green tinted screen when I plug in my Compaq laptop, via the VGA input. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.

That usually indicates a bent pin on the cable, check both ends and see if one pin is bent.
Alternatively it could be a reaction to an unsupported resolution/refresh rate. Set your refresh rate to 60hz and set your resolution to 1024x768 and see if that works and if it does start taking the resolution up.

Have you set the tv to VGA mode? obvious but can be easily missed.

You need to set up the vga output in the display settings.

On windows I think it is Start/control panel/display settings/

Dual monitor support should be on.

You should also be able to probe & test the screen whilst in the "display settings" window.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I have discovered I need a new VGA cable. The one I have has a bent pin.
