After the SCOTUS ruling yesterday, my FB page was alight with hundreds of people calling for violence. I was careful to not respond similarly, and even here on ATS I've tried to not mention violence.

It isn't that I disagree with it, I have a secret desire that justice is eventually done one way or another, but these days people really need to be more careful what they put out there on social networking sites. I fully expect a few of my friends to be flash-banged later this week. They really shouldn't have said the things they said on a public forum like FB.

Doesn't make it right, but it is the world we live in. The fact that we even have to worry about such a thing is proof of how far we have let our liberties erode.

Thank you for that counter-point.

Reading one sided threads like this make it hard to get back to sleep.

So what happened to the girl who got flash banged? (she's going what? WHAT?)

New police motto: Go home tonight.

Instead of putting their life on the line protecting the public, they are putting the publics life on the line in order to protect themselves. Thats soldier talk. Right, combat vets?

You didn't fight for any ideals or politics or even a flag. You fought for the buddies at your side.

A lot of these "new cops" are also vets. And all the "less than lethal" toys they employ are just that... less than lethal.

"Hey, so we knocked down your door and blew out your eardrums. At least you are still alive. If you had been in Iraq we would just call in a strike and then your civil rights would really be violated. So stop your complaining".

And this has zero to do with the original post.

Cowardice is one of the primary defining characteristics of the police, on a universal level.

The government is loyal towards its' own people, only. Civilians are seen purely as the enemy. You mean nothing to them whatsoever.

Understand; the various agencies of the government are not there, by any means, to protect you. They are there to protect each other from you, and the only reason why they care that you think otherwise, is because it makes their job easier. If they could maintain control with you knowing that they don't give a crap about you, then they'd do so quite happily.
edit on 29-6-2012 by petrus4 because: (no reason given)

I checked this thread because getreadyalready was involved. Little did I know he was lone voice in the wilderness.

So, according to you, this guy isn't a police officer:

www.theblaze.com...

or this one:

www.dailymail.co.uk...

Pay them no mind Petrus, they're freaks of nature who got lucky by being accepted into what is probably the most evil organization man has ever known. As if you have first hand knowledge. And to make it even better for you, officers like the ones in those stories are ridiculed by their peers every day for being pansy assed do-gooders.

Whatever your issue with the police is, and it's obvious to everyone that you have one, get over it. It's also obvious that you're easily manipulated. It took me one minute to find those stories and there are plenty more where those came from. But no, concentrate on the bad ones that you can easily find on MSM with a click of a remote or a mouse because we all know that's a VERY trustworthy place to get information.

But again, pay these links no mind. It would burst whatever bubble you live in and you might even learn something about human nature.

For the record, I'm not condoning what they did in this situation, but I've lived long enough to know full well that cops like that are the exception to the rule. If you have 6 cops together on the street and 2 of them are needlessly kicking the @$$% out of someone, the other 4 are going to be watching going "WTF?" But because they're brothers in arms, they're going to deal with the situation behind closed doors. That's what families do. They take care of their own. You're in a family like that and you'll understand why. You're an armchair quaterback and you're going to make judgement calls based on a news story by a type of media that you probably don't even trust to begin with. But since it fits your agenda........ The police are certainly not going to tell us how they're going to handle it when there are people like you just waiting to pick apart what they say because of an obvious and mis-placed prejudice.

People like you are the ones keeping societal divides up, not the police.

I see no bad here.
The girl is still alive and apparently unharmed.
NO dogs were harmed it seems. (even more important than humans in my eyes)
The police look stupid, while wasting funds and possibly serving a warrant that never existed.
Now girl sues for 6 figures and some police officers will be laid off and police public opinion drops through the floor.
I'm telling you folks, make a safe room in your home for you and your dogs.
After the dust settles and you secure your dogs, then come out and talk to the police and the media.
Best way of combatting fools, put their stupidity in the limelight.

Or we could maybe take the wrapper off of our micro wave and hang it over the lintel pointing towards the porch with a farraday cage to funnel the waves in that direction....
hook this to a motion sensor, and anyone who comes to the door will be micro waved with it and immediately drop whatever they are holding and run swiftly away...!
Thats the gist of the armys newest non lethal weapon, and i see no reason it cant work for defense against home invasions or Jehovas Witnesses.....

I once had an idea for an anti-car jacking device. Weld a piece of 30 inch rebar to a coil spring and mount under the drivers floorboard with a release handle lever in the floor. Pull the rebar back and latch it, and if someone walks up to the door, you reach down like you are going to open the door, but instead you release the highly tensioned rebar and break both their legs and drive away.

More low-tech than your microwave version, but similar in nature.

More on topic, I've had a SWAT team come to my house and make an arrest. They encountered my pitbull, and they were extremely professional, they didn't kill the dog or taze anybody, they even let my parents get dressed more appropriately before they took them into jail. Nice, professional folks. It was a full-blown paramilitary team, in full gear, with a helicopter overhead, and they had scaled my back fence, and surrounded my house, but they were nice enough to knock on the front door and wait. They were also nice enough to run away out of the back yard when the dog was let out, instead of just shooting the dog.

Most cops are good.

Most cops are good.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that point.
My knowledge of cops, first hand and fairly intimate, is that they are mostly a rotten bunch.

According to a local TV news account, the Evansville PD maintains that the invasion of the Milan home “was well worth it to keep everyone safe.” But even if we were to describe juvenile online comments as a “threat,” it’s nonsense on stilts to claim that “everyone” in Evansville was endangered by them. According to Sgt. Jason Cullum, the police embody the “community,” and they can be paralyzed with fear by an anonymous, solitary internet Troll. “We’re not going to let these type [sic] of people take over and have us scared in our own homes,” he told the local Fox affiliate. From this perspective, the SWAT team’s home invasion was not a grotesque act of overkill reasonably described as an act of state terrorism, but a pre-emptive strike against forces that threatened the existence of law and order itself.

WTF!

I'm speechless...I wanted to write something witty to add to this
I have noting to add...unbelievable that these cowards are allowed to carry weapons on our streets.
Will someone please explain the thinking that would lead to this?
Wouldn't someone say, "nah, maybe we should just knock."
I had my own run-in with the all-to-quick-to-arrest, police of the good state of Indiana.
Charges dropped due to illegal search. Still cost me 2 grand.
The fact that they took a camera crew with them as they raided the wrong house is hilarious. Dangerous as he**, but hilarious.

Yes, there are a few good ones out there.
I am not talking out of my butt, I also have relatives that are police officers... Some are good. I know law enforcement from the 'good guy's side of things. I have hunted with, did target shooting and combat shooting with local, state and a few federal law enforcement officials. A close relative was the county sheriff for twenty years beginning when I was age 6. I sat and listened to the state cops talk with him many times, sometimes in the same room, sometimes from an adjacent room. Those conversations were very enlightening.
Another thing that I learned is that the majority of LEO's are not very good shots, especially when you consider the amount of range time they have at their disposal.

A camera crew was there of course they used swat how else would they put fear into the innocent civilians if they don't televise it. I think cameras are like cryptonite to cops they always act a fool when they are around.

Similar incident in Detroit not to long ago, except a little girl was killed by the police. Abcnews

Obama was talking about a civilian defense force before he was elected. In fact it was being built up even while Bush was still president. People imagined that Obama was talking about an army of Acorners and Black Panthers. But the truth is that Obama is a CFR globalist. The civilian defense force is really all of the police agencies that have been militarized over the past decade with $1,000,000,000,000 of federal money. The cops on these forces consist of a large number of combat vets from the recent wars. They are armed to the teeth. Some of these agencies have tanks. Many of them are going to employ drones. Right under your noses the civilian defense force has been built. And it is not there to defend you. It is there to defend the hand that feeds it. And people have been questioning whether troops would fire on civilians. Does it matter anymore when it will be the militaristic cops that will be used to break down your door?

Where did you find that information . I was led to believe that foreign UN troops would be used to enslave us .

You forgot they would stand behind their cars guns drawn with a doughnut in the other hand while the crook is killing the hostages and then after all gets quiet they will go in find the guy killed himself and handcuff him . Job done . Write a report and go home .

This was in Indiana where it is now legal to shoot police in such events as this. I wonder what would have happened if she would have had a weapon and used it on the police.

She would be dead, plain and simple. As soon as shot one was fired at the police she would have looked like Swiss cheese.

You and I both know this is true.

Its stupid to shoot at police in ANY situation. What kind of idiot would open fire on cops and think "This will work out in my favor"?
