Facebook actively censoring dissent on the healthcare ruling right now.

So I am pissed off about the court thinking it has the right to force me to buy something. I am letting off steam by posting my outrage on Facebook like a good nerd would. I try to post this:
" And so it's revolution then? That is what we are left with. Either we are slaves as the court ruled or we are free and must use force to refute this travesty."

And no matter how many times I try, it will not allow it. No matter where I try to post it.

The censors are getting way too obvious these days. First Newsweek now this. Genuine dissent is not allowed.

Maybe that is why SCOTUS did what they did.
Just to piss everyone off and get things rolling knowing full well it would set the majority of the nation off.

Calm down, son.

I think your anger is highly misdirected. You're furious that you have to have health insurance, want to start a revolution because of a health insurance mandate? Are you equally as outrageous by federal taxes, which actually go to killing innocent people in global wars and other clandestine operation aimed at undermining the stability of the world.

Dude, this is HEALTH insurance (and i do not agree with individual HC being Mandated, but i am not wanting to start damned revolution).

I seriously doubt FB is "censoring" anything (unless the liberal establishment is censoring those opinions that are contrary to their own liberal opinions), but i am sure it is overloaded by people's overreaction and wanting all their "friends" to know how outraged they are.

Chill out.

I don't think it's so much the health care bill that people are worried about. It may be this little gem spoken by Nancy Pelosi...

we have to pass the bill to know what's in it.

Personally i think its MAD that you guys across the pond don't have free healthcare for everyone. If you can afford to spend over half a TRILLION dollars per year on war machines, you can afford to take care of your own without forcing them to pay - just my opinion!!!

Every day it is something new. One more thing that takes away a little more freedom. They do it slow so there is never any one "thing" that sets people off. This is the beginnings of a corporate dictatorship. Eventually you will be forced to drink Coke over Pepsi or buy Kraft products instead of generic. This is the first step. If we don't stop it here, it won't stop.

Yeah, healthcare. If it was going to be free like in other countries I would not mind. But I would already have insurance if I could afford it, and I can't. How is fining me $2500 going to make me have money I do not have? It is too much of a burden to allow to continue.

Oh, and on page 1004 the new law mandates we are all to be chipped. You want the mark of the beast? I will die first.

It is quite sad to see your government give up on its public responsibilities in the pursuit of war. The banking sector has been taxing you for a while through inflation and now the health care sector has come out with its own tax as the public purse has been ransacked. So what is next, mandatory food, air, water and general corporate taxes? It does make life more complex with added stress.

The Supreme Court has shown its seedy, yellow underbelly as one that is bought and paid for by corporate interests. How they can interpret this health care mandate as a "tax" is beyond me. Pretty soon we'll be forced to buy all sorts of products from private corporations or be penalized at tax time. Every decision they have handed down in the last 20 years has been for the benefit of big business. This is not interpreting the constitution as it is written, this is twisting things around in the name of fascism.

I don't have an issue with socialized medicine, but this legislation was written by the health insurance industry and is nothing but a boondoogle for them, creating an enormous client base, all paying high prices for crappy health care, in which they still determine what care you can get and what you cannot.

It doesn't surprise me that Facebook is actively suppressing dissent, making it appear that everybody is "thrilled" over this latest assault on our individual freedoms.

Whatever. My husband and I are NOT buying health insurance. The Supreme Court has proven themselves to be Supreme Corporate Whores, and they can kiss my angry American butt.

I second that... "The Supreme Court has proven themselves to be Supreme Corporate Whores, and they can kiss my angry American butt! "

I have mixed feelings about the health care law. I think it's a slippery slope and so a SCARY step in a SCARY direction. The direct effects of the mandate, though, I imagine might be very positive, and save a lot of lives and money in the long run. It's absurd how expensive health care is, and scary how many people are uninsured -- the problem we can all agree on, at least, even if this is a scary and misguided solution.

With regards to your Facebook status, not so sure it's being censored... sometimes I have repeated trouble posting comments or status updates - especially with my iPad - and it's never due to censorship (innocuous posts), but technical issues with Facebook. Like for example, earlier today I could post a comment on a friend's message if I went to their wall first, versus navigating there from my notifications...

I do not believe facebook is censoring your posts. I created a facebook account a while back, when someone else posted that they were being censored, so I could try to post the same thing. I copied your exact post, and posted it myself. Worked fine. We'll see in a little while if they are censoring, because I am sure it will be removed. The last time I tested this, the post went through without a hitch and was not removed.

I just tested to see if this was the case on Facebook and alas it isn't. Just get a twitter, if it's bothering you.

Anyhow, crisis averted. There's no censorship.

No censorship what so ever.
My post, which is an exact copy of yours, has been up more than two hours.

Yeah and 20 minutes after I posted this thread I tried again and it posted just fine. So maybe it was a glitch. But I posted something complaining that I was being censored and it went right through and then tried the first status again and it would not work. Then 20 minutes later it posts. Weird.

Yes we do. If you are referring to the tax we pay that effectively covers the cost, need i remind you that all persons who dont pay tax because of whatever reason get free healthcare, no UK citizen whether they pay tax or not will EVER get turned away in the UK

You can NEVER be turned away here either, it's already a law. Just another point that makes this mandate nothing but a tax.
I have already been censored and it was on this site even though I was just responding to someone's comment. Oh well, at least ATS is following Obama policy.
