This post was hilarious! I wish I could give you a ton of stars, but just one. Great post! I thought of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skulls where his son is sword fighting.

i live 2 miles from hogwarts! in other words gloucester cathederal, UK. and work 100 yards away. but what you are demonstrating is choice, it's not mine, dont try to describe the pain until you sign off and cut your foreskin off and let us know the pain, HOW do you know theres no mental trauma or memory? how do you know it does not affect there mind unless you can be in a position to compare?

Easy.

You claimed you had a hard time with your tight foreskin, and I did not have a hard time with my lack of foreskin.

Circumcision is how the righteous used to mark their slaves... very fitting that some western countries would adopt the strange custom of cutting their child's penis' with knives.

This is great new. I didn't finish reading through all the comments, so if someone has already posted this, my apologies. Clif High in a recent audio talk claimed that circumcision is an Illuminati plot to weaken men's role in families and to foster aggression. He says that men are much less able to bond to women when they have been circumcised. He basically says it's a bad deal for men AND women, and for the future of the family.

Here's the link to the audio . . . scroll down to the March 24 episode called "The Grand Penis Conspiracy."

halfpasthuman.com...

I have no idea whether Clif High is right or wrong, but it is a fascinating theory, and worth a listen.

As a woman, I guess I too would find a non-circumcised male partner unusual here in the States, but I think women have become so used to expecting it that they just assume that it's normal, when clearly it isn't. I do know that American doctors have stopped recommending to parents that they circumcise their male babies as a matter of course. If memory serves me, circumcision began in America in the 19th century to serve as a kind of prurient deterrent to male masturbation. Then it became a medical "standard," but now, finally, American doctors are admitting that there's no need for it whatsoever.

Loool funny discussion. All I have to say is keep believing your doctors/government/religion it's quite amusing for the atheists. We know some day the truth will come out as it should and those who believed all the bs will only have themselves to blame for the mess created.

First off let me say that I was raised Jewish but nowadays I consider myself An "atheist Jew idealist"

Second I was circumcised As a baby and is no way a "mutilation".. Should do more research it is the cutting of a foreskin that probably less then an inch probably even less then half an inch. I would consider mutilation something like cutting the whole penis off.

Third I am in first year of college... I am happily glad I got it as a baby way to young to even remember the pain, I have had ask girls I slept with me on this for a history paper and they all say they proffer It way more. And I have a friend that was also Jewish and never got but wanted to, he got it and said it was the worst thing that ever happened to him. And completely regrets his parents not doing it to him as a baby. every person I met that wasn't regrets it..

Fourth I will deftly circumcise my son.. I don't understand why people would but that's up too you.

To a person minimally informed at best on the merits of either side of this debate, your questions are met with disbelief.

It prompts a single question -

Are you informed at all on the academic and medical discussions on foreskin?

For example : evolutionary biology and histological/dermatological areas of medicine?

Well this just sounds scarily familiar. What a big fat meal of crap. The audacity of doing this after what was done to the jewish people is outrageous. IMO

It WAS the first thing St. Paul did away with as a requirement for inclusion into God's heavenly family of which we are all a part, and it was the Jews who persisted anyway with the custom, so don't blame the Christians! That's not fair.

You are correct. Circumcision is of the heart for man and woman. New Testament.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.

You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justifed by law; you have fallen from grace.

For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
Galatians 5:1-6

Why Christians need not be circumcised

If there is a "medical reason" that would cause it to set up gangrene and couldn't be reached with soap and water by all means but I haven't found this with my own child who is almost 14 no complaints yet. Leave babies bodies as God has made them.

First off, instead of just whining about the issue, and complaining that you had no choice, and therefor forcing other people to not have the same choice. You think it was wrong what your parents did to you, so you want to prevent other parents from doing the same thing. What about the person who wished they got circumsized? What if they made that argument against you? What then?

Additionally, you say that this shouldn't be done until the person can choose for themselves, well who dictates that? Is it the state, or is it the parents? Who apparently are uncapable of making decisions for their children.

Seems a little hypocritical to have such horrible people who would "mutilate" their child's gentiles care for that person until they are old enough to make that decision themselves.

Now this is going to sound crazy, but if you are so hurt from this that you don't want your children to suffer the same, then by all means I think you should not do it to them. Find a sexual partner who wants the same thing, and proceed. However, don't invade on the rights of other couples.

Additionally if you are not in the position to be making a choice to cut off the foreskin of a child of your own, then you certainly shouldn't have any say what people in that position should do.

I have starred nearly everyone of your posts, though now "they've become [SNIPPED]" I still agreed with all you stated. Glad to have read them before hand. Great points from a male who isn't circumcised and brings experience to the table of this discussion.

While there are short-term risks to circumcision - bleeding, hematoma and sepsis, among them - there is "substantial evidence" the procedure can help protect against urinary tract infections, syphilis, HIV and chancroid and invasive penile cancer. Male circumcision also increases sexual pleasure for men and women, WHO reports. (report PDF)

news.blogs.cnn.com...

I've tried linking the report from the WHO but it won't work right so click the link and locate it in the cnn articel.

I posted new medical findings earlier in the thread and it seems no one cares. I guess to some all medical information is bunk. I found corroborating evidence to what you have just posted, in medical journals (Secondarily posted on a medical website). Except sexual pleasure, that was new info to me.

It's one thing to give a child a hair cut,
but to permanently disfigure a healthy minor should
carry the maximum penalty.
That goes with tattooing, piercing, female circumcision too.
Humans have no need for canine teeth; does that give
a license for dentists to remove them from healthy children ?
. . . no, they would be criminally charged as they should.

Dorkfish... you are either a guy who has spent too much time close to unclean penises... or a female...

If you are a female is it really fair for you to comment or participate, without some recourse against female genital appearances/smells/etc?

Thanks
