Most of these sound like symptoms of depression as I said in that other thread.

I don't see what 1,2,3,4,5 and 9 have anything to do with spirituality.

Vigilance must continue to be a prime ingredient of our every attitude, practice, and prayer.
When things go well, we must never fall into the error of believing that no great ill
can possibly befall us.
Nor should we accuse ourselves of "negative thinking" when we insist on facing
the destructive forces in and around us, both realistically and effectively.
Vigilance will always be the price of survival.

Well said! I second this motion.

The two are actually related. When people have a very spiritual experience or awakening, it can really "blow their mind" and be seen as a psychotic break. They are left changed for life. The difference, I guess, is how the person changes afterward and how they interpret the experience. If you allow people to tell you that you're just crazy, then it won't be very useful. I think there is always something to be learned, though.

I read that we would not have Beethoven's 9th symphony were it not for his such experience. He lost in marbles in a fantastic way, and he translated that to music like nobody else could. I was told that if you want to know a bit what it felt like for him, listen to that piece.

This list presupposes that you yourself, as the author of this list, has reached spiritual awakening and understanding of who we really are. So might we push aside your list for a moment and ask: what is spiritual awakening? and what are we really?

Spiritual awaking? Seems to be apathy around here. What are we really? A cancer.

It's so obvious this is happening yet people still say its not. Millions of people are just making it up? If it hasn't happened to you, you have little chance of understanding. Words today can't explain, but only give comparison and metaphor to what the spiritually attuned are trying to say has happened to them. But if you understand it there is a hidden language in the words, if you don't it sounds like mumbojumbo.

Your either born knowing it or have to learn it. But every single person is capable of reaching that understanding or awakening or enlightenment, Given you have enough will to. What determines how difficult reaching the awakening is how much natural understanding were born with, that's what determines the difficulty of awakening. But even if someone was born with absolutely no natural understanding of how things work can break free from illusions, It will just be harder for them to and some people are lazy, so they never will be able to see though some illusions. Not everyone is going to awaken, some are doomed to never, others will through effort, some may be born with this knowledge and understanding but not be able to explain it or have words for it.

I back this up with the ying and yang principal, some will be ying from the start and be born with an awakened state, Others will be yang and born without it, But willpower is the balancing agent.

That's how I see awakening anyways~

when you get the tingles, shivers or tension etc in the crown/spine skin. Do not touch it. do not scratch it. let it tingle. let it itch. let it tighten or relax.

Do Not Touch!

Thank you all for all the responses.

I posted this because it can be enlightening to a lot of people as to why the world around them may be changing.

What really made me understand and fully believe this is, beside the many hours of research, last one, number 10.

Synchronicity is the most resent happenings to me that is just blowing my mind. I have experienced all the others in one form in the last 5 years, but now I am in near perfect synch with others around me. It is sometimes unnerving at the rate I am able to finish thoughts of others around me that I don't even know that well, and thing are starting to all make clear sense to me as to why we are here and why people do the things they do. It all just make perfect sense now, and it is hard to explain to a lay person.....

Hope more of you can add to this discussion with personal stories of your progression to the spiritual awakening I am seeing around me every day.

Great list and is very accurate. The only symptom I have not had is the weight loss, though I certainly eat MUCH healthier than I used to.

Some of the symptoms are very specific and could not be caused by other issues as so many posters claim. The tingling of the head and spine is probably the most obvious sign of spirit awakening within. If you ever see any Indian (as in Hindu) artwork of the ancient rishis (seers) notice how the guru usually has an umbrella over his head. This is to signify that he is receiving cosmic intelligence. The sensation feels like water running over your head. This is not psychosis or any other nervous disorder. Posters ignorant of the great intelligence within and without us try (and fail) to assign scientific, medical, and psychological solutions. All we need is Druscilla to come in with that clap-trap

Other symptoms of awakening spirit will be through the ears and eyes as the list described. Depending on the person, you might see light, sparkling, fluorescence or even haziness or smokiness (that really isn't there). Others who are inclined to awaken may also see the sparkling, haziness, around your body as well.

You may hear the sounds of bells, hums, or even waves like the ocean. This is the cosmic music of AUM/ OM broken down into its constituent parts. You may also even hear vibrational tones become higher and lower...this is your vibration! and you will notice it changes based on your thoughts, actions, and behaviors. You may also begin to hear voices. Don't freak out! This is your higher self giving advice. It will never tell you to do anything (never do anything you feel is wrong). It is not there to give orders, only sound advice. YOU must make the final judgement as there is a potential for deception by negative informants (this is where psychosis, schizophrenia, and demonic energies come into play).

Please refer to The Upanishads for more detailed signs of enlightenment. I think I covered the essentials here (that pretty much comprised the OP's list).

I have personally experienced the symptoms described in my post and the OP. Do not let those ignorant of enlightenment dismiss it for you! If you are a seeker, seek on with honesty and determination. It is a difficult screening process to get through as there are so many fakers who can't make the cut and give up too soon. Know that through prayer and/or meditation and various forms of yoga, worship, devotion, or just plain being the absolute best person you can be is truly the path to Christ/Krishna consciousness. All it really takes is an honest desire to serve righteousness. This is how one "awakens". This is our destiny.

What about having some seriously weird dreams?

Sorry to disappoint you, but dreams are meaningless! I was disappointed hearing this from my guru as well. All the great yogis, lamas, saints, etc. do not sleep very much. Their sleep is very different. In fact, It is hardly sleep as we know it. No sleep = no dream = no real spiritual need for dreams. Dreams exist on the level of emotion and thought. The more one truly awakens, the less one sleeps, the less one dreams.

Dreams are an expression of ego. Ego is the bad guy. Ego likes to fight back.

Umm if someone is having a psychotic break you dont interpret that as some type of spiritual experience, thats a very very serious problem. Now if you have a moment of deep inspiration and understanding that changes you for good...then ok. But psychosis may be a symptom of a much larger underlying problem.

Dreams are not meaningless. They can be ways for synchronicity to manifest, and ways for the archetypes of the collective unconscious (not just the ego-self) to manifest in symbolic (mythological) forms. Dreams can be expressions of the collective unconscious. That can be very helpful during the Individuation (enlightenment) process.

What dream do is your higher self is helping your lower self with a problem. That is all it is for, if you are having some whacked out dreams, most likely you are doing some stressful work or issues that need some intense fixing.
