There are a significant number of Arab immigrants in San Diego county.

Define what you mean by significant since you did not go to the trouble of stating numbers.

Many of them are Iraqi Christians who have left recently after being targeted by radical Islamicists.

Firstly, there is no such thing as 'Islamicist' however you can call fundees Christianists if you wish.

Do you realise that the US invaded Iraqi and killed over a million people then they deployed their death squads.

The killers of Christian Iraqis, who have lived unmolested in Iraq for over 1000 years, were Americans and their death squads. Did you forget about American and British special forces in Arab clothing planting bombs in neighbourhood markets full of poor women and children? The Christian West is truly lethal.

"Chronicles of Narnia"
Very nicely put.

One of the other posters alluded to the overall stance of America and its allies in matters middle eastern. Keep the pot simmering.

1. America benefits from perpetual instability in the Arab world, whether between nations or factions within nations. America can support whom it chooses for considerations it requires.

2. It is in America's interests to make sure that Israel is under a never ending threat from its neighbors, always dependant on America, always cooperative with America's overall intentions (control of middle eastern oil).

America is like the lunatic at the picnic. Give him all the cake he wants, just so he won't wreck everything in sight.

Oil is a curse on the Arab and Jewish people that won't be lifted until the last drop is gone.

Perhaps you are correct when it comes to the M.E however Sharia law pundits are encroaching into wider territory every day.

You lost me there with your nonsensical fantasy. Let us talk facts and not some over cooked propaganda garbage.

2. Turkey (Restrictions on alcohol)
3. Brunei (Caning, Alcohol is illegal)

Why did they sign peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan then?

They signed treaties with regimes and not with nations.

They could say something like: "The capital of Egypt is Cairo and is for Egyptians" and they could refrain from saying "Death to Israel!" and "The capital of your country will be ours soon and you will be dead".

How about the zionists withdraw from occupied land which includes Jerusalem and try hard to stop killing unarmed Palestinian civilians.

You act as if the zionists have entitlements over land and people they occupy. Try reading a factually correct history book.

In your opinion, what Israeli territory is not illegitmate and "occupied"?

You'd lose that bet. They've been around since the late 1920's. Just because YOU don't know something doesn't mean NO ONE knows it.

Now it so happens that I may not be personally acquainted with any in the MB - or I might. You'll never know. I will say that I HAVE known some radical Muslims on a personal level. their specific affiliations aren't really your concern.

Really?!,, comparing events in Afghanistan with Palestine. Comparing a meaningless event involving Pashtun people with how Egyptians will do the same is moronic.

If you fail to see the correlations, the fault is within YOU, not within ME.

You seriously think the Pyramids are in Palestine? You need to get out more.

Oh,,, I get it,,you're one of those americants that puts everyone in a single pot. Its time to change your ignorant view of the world. And avoid FOX.

Accusations of watching "Fox" I see. that's the last refuge of the clueless, it's what people toss out when they haven't got anything meaningful to say. I'll tell you what, you get over there, walk the ground, talk to the people, eat the food, spend some time getting to know a few of them, then come on back and we can have an informed discussion between peers. Until then, not so much.

Once you've seen it with your own eyes, THEN you can come back and tell me about my "ignorant view of the world". Until then, you might want to try a bit of introspection with reference to that allegation.

Firstly, there is no such thing as 'Islamicist' however you can call fundees Christianists if you wish.

It's a political Islamic movement in the 20th and 21st century, and real and identifiable, and needs a name.

And sure, a Christian movement which would advocate permanent replacement of civil law and government with religious courts, explicit religious tests for government officials, an over-arching board of Cardinals with plenary power to overturn laws, and police organization called "Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice". Yes, that could appropriately be called "Christianist".

The Papal States in the Renaissance would be an example, and possibly also the Reyes Catolicos in Spain---though even they would not accede to a Pope overruling one of their edicts.

Do you realise that the US invaded Iraqi and killed over a million people then they deployed their death squads.

The killers of Christian Iraqis, who have lived unmolested in Iraq for over 1000 years, were Americans and their death squads.

Untrue, however, the civil conflicts resulting from the poorly planned and considered invasion allowed sectarian religious parties to gather weapons and power, and these factions are oppressing the Christians.

If the US had been directly responsible ("death squads"), then certainly the Chaldeans would not have wanted to emigrate to the US, however, they did.

I like to call them wahabbis, since they follow in the footsteps of Ibn Wahab who took an extremely militant and literalist view of Islamic texts.... they usually call themselves salafis or ahl al sunnah wa'l jamaa among other names.....but they follow in his sunnah nonetheless.

Yes. Well, as long as we are defining "America" to mean the multinational corporations, arms dealers, weapons manufacturers, etc. It doesn't actually benefit the American people, per say.

2. It is in America's interests to make sure that Israel is under a never ending threat from its neighbors, always dependant on America, always cooperative with America's overall intentions (control of middle eastern oil).

I wish America had chosen a different path. I agree with you that "America" can mean different things depending on the points of reference but the American people have let their political system go to rack and ruin. There is still tremendous enthusiasm for criminals in office in America. I know there are many Americans who find the situation as deplorable as I do, but what is going on with the large numbers of people who continue to return the crooks to office?

I would like to think that Americans, as a people, are not culpable in what has been going on but it is increasingly difficult to believe that.

I know that oil depletion is a tremendous problem, but I think no nation on earth is more capable of solving that problem in creative ways than America. Instead Americans are sent to war to make sure that the American oligarchs wring every last penny out of the oil industry before turning to the inescapable necessity to seek alternatives . . . and hundreds of thousands of innocents have died to facilitate the oligarchs in their time of urgent greed.

Americans themselves are the only people on earth who can put a stop to this nightmare. Please do it.

Either your kidding or you dont know history. Or current events. Or the Bible.

The current land called Israel was founded by a group of terrorists - Israeli extremists called Zionists. They wanted power and control so men like Hitler could not subjugate them again. They begged the UN for land under the guise it was to protect all Jews. The land the UN allowed them to have was a very small part of the former Israel and since then, they have taken more land by bloodshed and force - more land outside the old Israels boundaries that even the UN or God gave to them originally. They have broken their UN charter by doing this.

These Zionists aka terrorists not only claimed land that no longer belonged to them ( or was even given to them) they took it by force. they are still doing this today murdering women and children who are just trying to stay alive.

This is Not a Holy nation unto God with Gods blessing. God told them he would turn his back on them until they turn back to Him and they have yet to do so. The Israelis have no power from God in these matters like they had when he told them to go and take the land of Cannan, He, is simply staying out of it.

The FIRST STRIKE on the forth day of the war ???
LOL//////........

If the war started BEFORE that -- then it would not be on the 4th day, would it?

I am in no way an expert on conflicts in the Middle East. I am not even interested in becoming "more informed". I'm just throwing out a possible reason for the attempted massacre of US troops observing Israel on the U.S.S. Liberty since there IS NO EXPLANATION. It just goes in the category; "question everything." It's not like I'm questioning the moon landing and all. The Liberty was attacked with apparently some cooperation from higher ups in the US military since there was no retaliation or support for the vessel, nor any sort of real investigation. Though Israel was never "absolutely" acknowledged as the culprits -- the lack of military support and investigations shows that nobody ELSE but Israel could have attacked a US military ship and gotten away without even a cross word. Obviously, some Senator's relationship with a 10-year-old was still on the down low (that's how diplomacy works, you see). Then the question is WHY?

The US financially and militarily backs both Egypt and Israel. Egypt because of it's oil reserves and purchases of our weapons an Israel because they've got dirt on EVERYBODY.

I kind of resent all the Mossad operations in the US and the number of politicos in their pockets. When I was younger -- there were a lot of people who were anti-Jewish and blamed them with every conspiracy and so you had to throw out most of the nonsense. Also, most of my friends were jewish. And of course -- 9/11 hadn't happened yet so I didn't go back and check my world history for errors.

But now I've grown up a bit, and I don't have any unquestioned heros -- I don't dismiss ALL critiques because of a bunch of idiots threw up nonsense all over it. 99% of the stuff I read on this blog, for instance, is rubbish - but at LEAST things are questioned. The exercise of critical thinking is useful even if it never bears fruit.

So either this is an anti-isreali rant by the Egyptians -- or the Egyptian president "could be" trying to facilitate the power of authoritarian groups in Israel by playing his part with the "bogie man game" and in return, someone in Israel will say something horrible and threatening (which WON'T be on our TV news). It's hard to say.

I don't really have the time to filter the tit-for-tat scare tactics of other nations -- all I ask is that people start LOOKING for this kind of propaganda.

Well that is something people tend NOT TO KNOW -- that all the "tactics" called terrorism today, were perfected and used to create the state of Israel.

From the point of view of all the angry arab neighbors who "just hate Jews for no reason" -- they stuck a sign post in history and said; "OK, after THIS POINT, it's a blank slate and we pay attention to the record."

// We stole it 70 years ago and you tried to take it back 50 years ago and THAT was totally a crime dudes!

>> Of course, I'm all for just saying; "Let's just settle down and quit worrying about who did what." Which is fine unless you live in Palestine and you've been in a shrinking Ghetto your entire life with little opportunity.

1- No it was not founded by Jews. And it is not theirs. Go read history again and get your facts straight.

2- Even IF it was, that was thousands of years ago. So based on your logic, America belongs to it's ancient peoples, and so does Australia. (Ancient peoples = non-whites)

So yes, they did do claim another country's capital as their own. Period.
