Slowly Degrading #Fukushima I Nuke Plant: Leak from Reactor 3 Gas Management System, Patched Up With Tape

According to TEPCO's plant status report on June 19, 2012 (Japanese only; there is no English version), a TEPCO worker noticed a hissing sound coming from the flexible duct from the Reactor 3 Containment Vessel Gas Management System on June 19 at about 12:19PM.

The Gas Management System is located on the 1st floor of the Reactor 3 turbine building.

The duct had been damaged for some unknown reason, and TEPCO says the damage has been temporarily patched up with tape while the cause is being investigated.

I hope they used good tape, maybe some gorilla duct tape. That's like trying to plug a damn with chewing gum. This incident is just awful. I am going to have my sunflowers checked for radiation at the end of the summer seeing as how they soak it up and the same jet stream that goes over Fukishima is the same one that goes over us here in Michigan.

But seriously, those guys have been through it. I don't think we will know the full ramifications of this until many years from now, if then.

This seems to be the gift that keeps on giving and I hope they all catch a break pretty darn soon.

Only if you give me a 'free' coin with it that is immediately going to sell for less than the advertised worth, the minute I take it out of the bag.

If tape works, then tape should be used. I read somewhere that in the future we may be putting our houses together with a very strong type of tape. Great advances are being made in the world of tape.
