Senate rejects bid to label genetically modified food

Isn't it amazing how complex they can make this matter.

"Dude, what is in this stuff your selling?"

"The law says I don't have to tell you!"

This is Codex Alimentarius. Using food as a weapon.

They will never pass a bill of that magnitude because then everything would have a label on it. I mean everything. They have been making modified food since commercial canning first started.

The Monsanto lobby is strong.

the issue really isn't between organic and GMO, it's not even about GMO verses non GMO, it's about choice. people should have the choice between them and be able to easily see which ones have them and which ones do not. it is taking away peoples freedom to choose what they consume or not and that is wrong no matter how you spin it.

It truly makes me furious as well. What people in this country could possibly be against this? The Senate should be fired for not representing the people and taking the side of Monsanto and poisoners of our food and our environment.

There must be something we can do. There must be some recourse for the people. I don't want to hear vote them out. This bill has to pass the house yet? So many things of this nature are not in the peoples interest and we take it sitting down. I read a quote by someone earlier the Patriot Act has harmed Americans more than all our enemies combined. This is treasonous. I think these Senators should be charged with a crime.

Monsanto has been a strong force in everything...since the late 70s...even at Walt Disney World................now they're too big for their own panties.................as i mentioned in an older thread.....Monsanto will probably be sued for carpets that stop flying in mid-air................they should have stuck with carpets...but...nooooooooooooooooooo....that wasn't enough for them...they wanted more.....just like the bloody government......more power......screw the people......let them all suffer...........Monsanto needs to go down.....just like our government................let them bleed from their not-so-royal corporate anus...............Monsanto will wish they were dead...by the way...i don't give a rat's ass if they see this, or not

We won't truly be able to boycott their products until we have a good list of things they've released, what stores carry them, what brands they masquerade under, and what farmers use their seeds.

We can write our legislators or get behind politicians who, undoubtedly will, get behind standing up to them in future elections.

Oscar Meyer.....Hormel.......Campbell's........Green Giant...............chances are, 90% of food suppliers are in cahoots with Monsanto...so....there's a good chance 90% of our food supply is tainted with GMO ingredients...just my thoughts....but.....a very real possibility

Our govt is constantly trying to # us. If it passes something it's to oppress us.If it rejects something it's to oppress us. Soon we will have nothing to lose.

Thank you for that! Very informative. This should be posted everywhere. I guess I am not voting for Senator Nelson any longer. Very disappointed in him and this vote.

I agree!! I think there is stuff in the t&c about doing petitions through ATS, but here is a link to a website that allows you to add your name to a list for review bynthe FDA, among other good info for waking others up!

If my food is genetically different, and essentially a different species, it should be labeled as such.

GMO beer better not be next....someone will get hurt, if they mess with my favorite recreational pastime! GMO coffee??? let'em screw with me....see what happens

You know the real bite in the butt is when Mon-satan gets sued for all the damages caused by their GMOs all they will do is go bankrupt!

there will be no criminal trials and executives held accountable... they'll just take the money and run....
