The U.S. could lose its status as the world’s biggest economic power within five years.

The International Monetary Fund predicts China will overtake the U.S. in 2016, which will effectively end the 'Age of America' a decade before most analysts had expected.

It means that whoever wins the 2012 presidential election will have the dubious honour of presiding over the fall of the United States.

If you look at the graph you can clearly see that China will overtake the US as the worlds largest economy by 2016. It will be less than four years. Romney or Obama could go down in history as the last president of the republic. China already is the largest economy when you consider the fact that the USD has more value due to it being the reserve currency.

I think the republic of the united states will crumble. It will be similar to what happened to the USSR but in reverse. Once the US loses the claim to largest economy they will also lose the Reserve Status. This will shrink their economy and cause inflation.

Even if the US remains intact and continues to live under their constitution they will lose the title of superpower. Less than four years until America is unseated. Romney or Obama will be the last american president to be the 'leader of the free world.'

I think this is the most likely scenario, once they lose the title of worlds largest economy they will start to lose everything, it will collapse like a stack of cards.
And it won't matter who is in office, even if Ron Paul wins.

There is a silver lining here. Maybe then we can stop carrying the rest of the world on our backs.

If you were the largest economy on Earth, and you have a superior military then any Nation in History, and you knew your time was coming to an end... would you ALLOW it?

The president that wins this election will not even be able to take office; this thing is coming to an end and faster then many think possible, the bigger they are the harder they fall and we Americans have a long way down yet to go.

I would wager that rather then allowing for the things mentioned in the OP to occur, the USA would rather trigger WW3 and let the best military emerge from the ashes allowing for the victor to re-write the historical account of the events which led to it.

America can't fall if their opposition doesn't exist. Of course it will not work and the whole Earth will sadly bare the fruits of this poor way of thinking.

Was Romney at Bilderberg? Now many may ask what this has to do with what i just quoted-Everything. Romney's tops advisers are PNAC chickenhawks who are advocating an attack on Iran. I think the time has come for this attack. Romney is the golden boy and the one chosen to do it. The attack on Iran is not really to take the oil-It's to cut it off from the Chinese. The Chinese get a significant amount of oil from Iran, any loss of access would be devastating for their economy.

I think it's very clear who is going to be in charge when TSHF-It's going to be Romney and all the ATS cheerleaders who vote for the guy will be here a week after he gets in office frothing at the mouth with hate for the guy. I'll laugh at them, life will go on.

Romney will also be able to end all social safety net programs as well once the SCOTUS rules on Obamacare. I think they will go even further than Obamacare and will strip every economic right the people have. Austerity is the name of the game, we are going to be stripped of our assets.

The USA is projected to have a GDP of $16 Trillion by December 2012.

The republic fell long ago.

When China has the world reserve currency, and when it has a navy on par with the US, and when their economy becomes larger than ours,when they get their own wall street.

I Really do have to laugh and China is awesome threads people pick up an item and see made in China on the back of it, but the truth is China was made in the USA.

The US makes countries, the ultimate status of a superpower haven't seen China make any countries.
