Text Tensions flared Friday evening at the annual Arab International Festival in Dearborn as members of some Christian missionary groups — including one called the Bible Believers — taunted Arab Americans with a pig’s head and signs that promoted hatred of Islam.“You’re gonna burn in hell,” one missionary shouted at a group of young Arab-American boys listening to him speak on Warren Avenue, where the festival takes place.

Text Some of the signs the missionaries held read: "Islam is a religion of blood and murder" and "Muhammad (Islam's prophet) is a ... liar, false prophet, murderer, child molesting pervert

Well well well... Another example of a 'radical' christian group following the teachings of Jesus... Compassion, tolerance, respect and love... Ha!
It always amazes me when a group of people who are commiting their lives to hating others and shoving their own beliefs down others throats and tell people they are doing all this hate in Jesus's name! I mean seriously! Holding a pigs head and calling their god a child molesting pervert!?
Jesus is turning in his grave!!
Although they have the right to their opinion, it borders if not crosses the line of hate speech... Very sad how they have skewed the original values and teachings of the bible to justify this kind of harrassment and hate.

Spread the love eh???? Nothing against people who practice what they preach, but I highly doubt their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would be proud of them for the spreading the hate and intolerance that they are doing!

You are correct they should have been trying to convert them instead of alienating them , Islam is a scourge on society with one goal to rule the world under sharia law . Shame on those Christians but there are always two sides to a story so we shall see what was what.

Hardly Christian's,these people are no better then terrorists,they should respect others religion,a cult? I'm thinking their relgion was around before Christianity,these are not Christians

thank you for this comment , i need to correct you though before someone does in a negative way , Christianity was around before Islam , but not by much , however the more modern christian sects were not ,

These people claiming to be "Christians" need to take some time out and read their Bibles. This is really offensive, because of their horrible behavior towards those of another religion, and for using false Claims of being Christians to while they abused these people giving Christians a bad image in the process.


On a more humorous not I would encourage people to check out the other headlines on the site.....some of them are just way out there!

And "todays Christians" are a LOT more BEHAVED than the ones of old, THANKS to LAWS that we have in place. Laws such as those that make it a CRIME to STONE and BURN people at the stake for not believing in nonsense or not being hateful superstitious fairy-tale believers like them.

oh god.. I'm gonna step in it.. Islam is a cult.. and by definition so is christianity.. all 3000 plus denominations of it. Why you even bother comparing christians to muslims is beyond me; you people are all the same. If anything find a group that is truly different than you! Which is to say anyone can do violence and claim a religious belief however it doesnt mean they are following that particular religions teachings and it doesnt mean other people who consider themselves Christians even condone their actions. I knoiw I certainly dont. These ignorant people speak for themselves and no one else and they certainly dont represent God.

Apparently they failed to read the section where it states only God can pass judgement.

When I lived in Michigan I was not that far from Dearborn. It contains the largest Muslim population in the United States. A few years back the JEwish community held an event every year for the community. They would have food, fun while at the same time helping their neighbors and those less fortunate. It helped foster understanding since it was open to anyone.

One year the event, which the community came to enjoy and look forward to, fell on one of their Holidays. The dilema was how to keep the event without violating their religious beliefs. The Muslim community stepped up and volunteered to run the event that year so the JEwish community could enojy their religious holiday while the community could continue to enjoy the gathering.

Last I heard they still hold the event and it has turned into a joint event now, which I find awesome. I just wish it would get more media attention with the hope it might remind people that we are all neighbors regardles of race, color, nationality or religious beliefs and what occurs to one group of people affects us all.

For those who state Islam has violent passages in the Q'uran - I agree.
However, the Christian and Jewish, as well as many other religions, all have violent passages / rituals contained within so for one group to try and claim the moral highground is as hypocritical as it comes.

Regardless of religion / beliefs, every single person on this planet faces the same fate - Death. I dont know about any of you but I would rather spend the time I have on this planet enjoying life, friends, family and diversity while living in the now instead of going out of my to piss people off on a daily basis thinking it will somehow matter after death.

Imagine this for a second , if you took a modern day Christian and put him back in time would he fit in ? i say nay ,

but if you took a modern day Muslim and put him back in that time would he fit in ? i say yay ,

because some of Islam's traditions are the same that they had back then , lets take praying for instance , did you know that early Christians used to portrait when praying back then ?

i am just trying to give a pointless example here , because it does not matter what you look like , it maters what is in your heart , however the reason Muslims wear their beards long and wear the type of cloths they do , is because prophet Mohammad PBUH said to fallow the sunna , and this would keep you off of the evil path , so they have these traditions and rituals in place , so that your mind constantly focused on ALLAH SWT (god) and it leaves no room for influence from any evil (or negative energy ) .

what makes you think "they have nukes" ? and how can you claim that Islam is in a Militant stage ? not trying to negative here , i am just a realist here , i would like facts to support such a bold statement , keep in mind that the "Militant" sects of Islam and their are a few , but it does not represent the whole of Islam , the majority are citizens who are fighting against an invading force ,


so if we take this and categorically put religion with "nukes" and "Militia" then i would say something like " look at the majority of the USA and its Christian militia force invading and conquering to whom posses nukes as well "

very well , said my friend , i am glad that you put that into perspective , As a Muslim it really makes me feel good to see that you understand this and have witnessed this , i will tell you that allot of this happens in the USA , however it is never in the media , sad really .. i have a theory and it might be a little shady , i think its because the invading force acted on the words of "terrorists" together with that word the processed an image witch happens to be the Image of a Muslim , so in order to lead a war that image has to remain opposing in order to keep support

i feel that it used to be that way early on ,however i also feel that the image is fading out ,and making way for the Image you so humbly described .
