The UFO-shaped object found at the bottom of the Baltic Sea... covered in soot, with 'little fireplaces' and lying at the end of a 1,000ft runway

www.dailymail.co.uk

Skeptics expected that a deep-water dive would debunk the a slew of extra-terrestrial theories surrounding an unidentified object sitting at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
But the Swedish expedition team that took the plunge surfaced with more questions than answers - and certainly no solution to its origins.
The divers found that the object, which some have likened to the Millennium Falcon because of its unusual round outline, was raised about 10-13 feet above the seabed and curved in at the

Very interesting!

It seems that the object is indeed an enigma raising more questions!

The object is covered in an un-explainable soot.. Could it have crashed to earth on fire crashing into the seabed? Creating the 1000ft "runway"

Or is the "plug to the underworld"?

Watching this with greater interest than before now!

What are your thoughts???

Soot is carbon particles that are the result of incomplete combustion. How does anyone know that this is "soot"? Was the substance tested? And if it is soot this presents many questions.

Indeed..

It could be an igneous intrusion??

Interesting, EvanB, sounds to me like some sort of marine volcanic feature ?

As this sort of mysterious object is at the core of my interests I have to wonder if the fact it seems to be made of rock could be due to accretion ? Old cannons from shipwrecks look like cannon shaped rocks after a couple of hundred years so if this was something that had been submerged for thousands (?) of years it could have gained a very thick layer of accretion.
Also could the black "soot" be some form of oxidisation leaking from something metallic under the accretion ?

But then again it could just be a very interesting natural formation, I hope there will be a more thorough investigation soon

If it's a plug to the underworld.

I hope they open it.

Good point. Time will tell. With anomalies such as this, we always seem to have some notion that there is a more interesting explanation, rather than the mundane. I could just be wrong, of course.

I think you'll find that the object has been described as 'mushroom-like' in appearance.
Not quite the same.

I said in the other thread, during the last Ice Age the Baltic had yet to form, so following that we have found settlements under the Black Sea and North Sea (which also flooded at the end of the last Ice Age) could this too be a human construct? Perhaps a kiln or over of some kind, or a home that was burnt after a raid? Who know's, but I am putting good money on it being a human made object if it is found not to be natural.

Here is the information that we think we have:

1000 foot skid mark

280 foot diameter circular object

circular object is soot covered and mushroom shaped

My best guess:

Flatish circular object entered atmosphere and came in hot (refer to War of the Worlds classic version).
Flatish circular object hit the eart and skidded.
The earth where circular object hit and came to a stop was covered in dense flora. Object burrowed under this plant material.
Circular object smoldered creating "soot".

Conclusion: under the "soot" may be something truly interesting.

Alternate conclusion: nothing to see here. Move along.
