I agree. there is no need for us to be involved. I have a feeling that the United States would attack us if we did try to stay out of it. It seems we have to choose a side one way or another.

I don't think China will ever attack Australia directly, it's simply not their style. They're more into slowly infiltrating the system and buying everything up, until one day the Australian population will wake up to find themselves completely surrounded and owned, lock, stock and barrel... Tell that to Vietnam when back in 1979 China went in to teach the Vietnamese a lesson and ended up getting their asses handed to them and had to pull out after only a few months. Tell that line of bull to both India and Russia. China has had border clashes with both of them over territory.
