For the past three days I have been having strep throat. I went to the doctor yesterday and got a shot, and some medicine. I have been having the worst headaches, body pains, severe soar throat, vomiting, high fever and restless nights.

Today my fever and headaches are gone, but my throat is so soar that I can hardly even swallow without feeling horrible pain. I called out of work last night, and at my work, once you call out one day for being sick they let you have three days off, if you need it, and it only counts as one day.

My question is? Should I stay at home again? Is severe soar throat enough to keep someone at home? It hurts really bad, but I hate laying out of work, I feel like a lazy slob even if I am sick.

I would go in and see if I could complete the shift, but if I go in and have to leave because of vomiting or severe pain arises, then it counts as another absence. If I don't go in today, it only counts as one. So it's like gambling, tbh.

Why risk getting anyone else sick?
Stay home.

As an employer....i wouldn't expect you to come in at all.

Especially if it tampers your job performance. Id say just take off and post on ATS

Thanks for the fast replies. My dad also called and told me it would be better not to go in tonight as well. I guess I will be on ATS, lol. I just wish my throat would heal up.

Medical advice from ATS is not advisable, but why did you get a shot for a sore throat?
Was it a vaccine?

I haven't had strep throat since I started smoking cigarettes, which was about 23 yrs ago. Maybe try zinc throat lozenges like Cold-Eez, that works well I hear.

Go into work. It's not like you swallow "stuff" for work ... Or do you?

If you know what I mean

This is not to be construed as medical advice in any way, but I've found, from my own experience that chamomile tea is very soothing to a soar throat. I've also found through my own experience that whenever I feel like I am coming down with something I take some colloidal silver and I seem to get better very quickly.

Feel better soon

When you are diagnosed with strep throat, it is common to be given a shot of penicillin to speed the healing process up.

Don't go in... and take all the days....be sensible...you are not well yet. You need a lot of rest and you won't get that at work.

I hope you are back to your healthy self...very soon.

Hope you feel better.

I wouldn't go in but get your doctor excuses. You get paid to be sick.

Merv Griffin ate a rat and got the plague?

You sure that's the right story?

It's not even Oregon.

Think this is the story you are going for.
