For the last three days I have been sick with Strep throat. I have not been able to sleep really well and I have been running a very high fever. Last night, for the first night three days I have been able to actually get some rest.
Hallucinations can affect all of a person's senses. People with the mental illness of schizophrenia may hear sounds or voices that are not really there. People with certain mental illnesses may also have hallucinations in which they see a person or thing which is not really there. People are less likely to have hallucinations in which they smell or touch something that is not really there. Certain forms of epilepsy can cause hallucinations. Finally, hallucinations can be the result of certain substances taken or of certain physical constellations. Most of the time, these substances are taken to get the hallucinations. Sometimes, (severe) lack of sleep, or high fever can lead to hallucinations brought on by such viruses as the common cold.
At first I couldn't move. (Yes I have had sleep paralysis in the past) This time luckily, It only lasted for about five seconds, but even after I started being able to move this thing didn't go away.
The creature looked exactly like that, except all black. And I could not really see from the chest up, so I never got a look at the things face. I'm not sure If I didn't look that high, or if it was hidden from my view. This creature was not directly on top of me. It was in a corner next to my bed, but I saw it as plain as I see my keyboard and computer in front of me. Another interesting thing to understand is that my room was pitch black, but I could see this thing clear as day and it was also pitch black. It's like it was a new shade of black, blacker than the blackest black that we know. I know it sounds crazy, but it is what it is. In my opinion, I think it was some type of evil spirit but I'm not scared. I have prayed for God's protection and have asked God to take this thing out of my home, and I no longer feel that it is here. If you don't believe me thats your decision, but I can guarantee you that all of this is true, whether it was some epic sleep paralysis or a real thing.

The reason that I think this could possibly have been just sleep paralysis during a dream is the way the thing looked. The genie from Aladdin would have been stored somewhere in your mind, and that memory could have come out during the dream. Seeing after waking up is possible imo, even if it was a dream.
But I have a feeling this may have been real. I know you do, lol. I know there are actual ghosts or spirits that are solid black masses, and they can be seen even in darkness, because they are so dark. I think your best bet, even if you don't believe in God, is to start. Invoking the name of God or Jesus has seemed to work for others in the past, and as far as I know it is the only consistent solution. But all of those stories could have been dreams as well, and the reason that calling to God works is because subconsciously you believe it will.
The main problem is that sleep paralysis can seem so real, because you're almost both awake and asleep, and this state allows the mind to do things it wouldn't normally do, in respect to your senses. Good luck though, and I hope it all stops.

On a side note:
I have always felt that there was an evil presence in that corner. A few weeks ago, I slid my bed up to the wall and was sleeping on the side of the bed, which put me in the corner and I had sleep paralysis and could hear something talking to me saying "HOW DOES THAT FEEL?" - but I never saw anything that night.

Dude, you had a messed dream, then sleep paralysis, then saw part of your dream while being awake.
Where does the ghost or spirit fit into this?
Isn't the most logical conclusion that your brain was still in dream-mode while you were awake?
