Before I tell you what happened, I want to give you ALL of the facts. So that you can make a logical conclusion out of this. I am not one of those people who tell you something like, "I saw lights in the sky all night long! They were coming and going" But in reality, the OP knew the entire time there was an air show or something. I'm not here to trick anyone or entertain anyone. Just to relay my experience. Make of it what you will.

For the last three days I have been sick with Strep throat. I have not been able to sleep really well and I have been running a very high fever. Last night, for the first night three days I have been able to actually get some rest.

However, around 3:20, give or take five minutes I had a dream that I was sitting in the woods with a friend on four-wheeler He had one and I had my own. We were facing each other sitting on our four-wheeler. ( ->

On a side note:

I have always felt that there was an evil presence in that corner. A few weeks ago, I slid my bed up to the wall and was sleeping on the side of the bed, which put me in the corner and I had sleep paralysis and could hear something talking to me saying "HOW DOES THAT FEEL?" - but I never saw anything that night.

Well, as you said, it could be a dream or a real occurrence. Really hard to tell. Thanks for sharing, though. It is interesting and could have been a demonic spirit. I personally do believe in such things. Although I'm sure some naysayers will show up on this thread.

I would personally like to see a drawing of it. You should consider that.

To me it sounds like you saw a ghost. Unfortunately i cant open the link to what this thing looked like for some reason. It was either a ghost, a poltergeist, a demon or you were seeing things.

The most logical thing is that you were seeing things. I know i have seen some weird stuff for a few seconds after waking up. If this kind of thing persits get checked out at the doctors, you might have something wrong with your eyes.

If everything checks out and you are still experiencing strange things then check back and let us know

Edit: I can open the link now, a genie was the last thing i was expecting to see

i think we have an answer for the vivid strange dream , also some medications can cause this as well

Hallucinations can affect all of a person's senses. People with the mental illness of schizophrenia may hear sounds or voices that are not really there. People with certain mental illnesses may also have hallucinations in which they see a person or thing which is not really there. People are less likely to have hallucinations in which they smell or touch something that is not really there. Certain forms of epilepsy can cause hallucinations. Finally, hallucinations can be the result of certain substances taken or of certain physical constellations. Most of the time, these substances are taken to get the hallucinations. Sometimes, (severe) lack of sleep, or high fever can lead to hallucinations brought on by such viruses as the common cold.

At first I couldn't move. (Yes I have had sleep paralysis in the past) This time luckily, It only lasted for about five seconds, but even after I started being able to move this thing didn't go away.

i have noticed that when having sleep paralysis , time is completely different ,and their is no real way to judge how long it lasts , while it could have felt like 5 seconds , i might have been longer or shorter

The creature looked exactly like that, except all black. And I could not really see from the chest up, so I never got a look at the things face. I'm not sure If I didn't look that high, or if it was hidden from my view. This creature was not directly on top of me. It was in a corner next to my bed, but I saw it as plain as I see my keyboard and computer in front of me. Another interesting thing to understand is that my room was pitch black, but I could see this thing clear as day and it was also pitch black. It's like it was a new shade of black, blacker than the blackest black that we know. I know it sounds crazy, but it is what it is. In my opinion, I think it was some type of evil spirit but I'm not scared. I have prayed for God's protection and have asked God to take this thing out of my home, and I no longer feel that it is here. If you don't believe me thats your decision, but I can guarantee you that all of this is true, whether it was some epic sleep paralysis or a real thing.

yup sounds like a classic case of sleep paralysis

the fallowing link describes a story of a sleep paralysis , if you wish to read , maybe compare , but it is not uncommon to have a episode with a dark figure , you can find art work dating back years with depictions of such "evil" entities , but back then they really thought it was evil spirits , i know i might come off as being really relax with this subject , and its only because i have gone thought this many many times with my self almost every night , so the best advice i can give you is that do not fear the darkness , and when your in this state , tell your self over and over 123 wake up , 123 wake up , and i promise you you will wake

Thanks for posting that. Makes me feel a bit better. And yes I think my strep had something to do with it, that's why I posted it in with the story.

If you truly think you weren't hallucinating I would recommend burning Sage in your room/house. Also, I had a similar experience except I thought I was after being abducted by aliens (My dream was about UFOs) but after I fully awoke and regained my senses it didn't seem so plausible.

Just take it easy for a few days and meditate on it (Meditation is the best way to lose stress, after Yoga) and if you still get a feeling then research it on the interwebz, just remember to take all the information with a pinch of salt and if it seems absolutely bonkers it probably is.

Best of luck.

The reason that I think this could possibly have been just sleep paralysis during a dream is the way the thing looked. The genie from Aladdin would have been stored somewhere in your mind, and that memory could have come out during the dream. Seeing after waking up is possible imo, even if it was a dream.

But I have a feeling this may have been real. I know you do, lol. I know there are actual ghosts or spirits that are solid black masses, and they can be seen even in darkness, because they are so dark. I think your best bet, even if you don't believe in God, is to start. Invoking the name of God or Jesus has seemed to work for others in the past, and as far as I know it is the only consistent solution. But all of those stories could have been dreams as well, and the reason that calling to God works is because subconsciously you believe it will.

The main problem is that sleep paralysis can seem so real, because you're almost both awake and asleep, and this state allows the mind to do things it wouldn't normally do, in respect to your senses. Good luck though, and I hope it all stops.

Well, I already believe in God. Actually, I called to the name of Jesus while I was in my sleep paralysis. I could barely talk, but I was trying to scream. When It came out it sounds like a bunch of garble, but Jesus knew what it meant. And at that point, the sleep paralysis was over and I ran into the kitchen. I actually slept on the couch in the living room the rest of the night, lol. The next morning I went back to my room and took a early morning nap, and I felt safe a secure. I think this thing has gone, if it was real.

reading your post gave me the chills... I used to get sleep paralysis alot but i think i grew out of it, but i never woken up from it and seen a dark figure or anything out of the ordinary. If what you described happend to me I would probably jump out the window or I would empty my glock at it ( which i have shot at something b4 when something was in my house) I will post that story when im able to start a thread. lol

Dear Kind Sir:

I sympathize with you and your current situation. Being a person who has earned a master's degree in psychiatry and psychology, and practiced in these fields for over 40-years I can offer a starting piece of advice for you. To begin with, Change Your Screen Name to something that excludes the city in Alabama your current one has. Two years ago that place was nothing but an evil, zombie filled, safe-haven. There could still be ones remaining with lingering thoughts of that year, dreaming for the chance to repeat it again! I still shake, shudder, and tremble when I think of those days.

In closing, on a serious note, I've read others personal experiences where they've seen entities "blacker than black". Few things mentally give me the goose bumps, but for some reason, that's one of them. I sincerely hope that was the last encounter you have with that entity.
Best Regards,
CBS

Note: First paragraph of the above reply to OP is humor as I'm assuming his screen name relates to Auburn, Alabama. I live in 'Bama as well and was born an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. I'll shut up now, c-ya.

Look like this?

I dont like the idea that your room was pitch black yet you could see something that was darker than that. Simply being in a pitch black room will be used by your mind as a chalk board and begin to make you see things that really arent there at all.

the room a friend of mine sleeps in, is pitch black, and i see things in it constantly which is easily attributed to it being.. pitch black. So I want to give you a chance, but unless you saw this thing in a dim lit (atleast some speck of light) place or in normal lighting, I dont think i can give it any credence.

Im not trying to be a skeptic, but you have to realize how much your imagination plays when its dark to the point where you cant actually focus on anything in particular. Hang a shirt on a hanger and tape it to the wall. stare at it in the pitch black and i can almost guarantee its only going to look like a shirt for about 15 seconds -- after that, it could be anything.

Whaaa??? Nobody puts Baby in a corner!
I couldn't resist a little Dirty Dancing humor. Sorry.

But seriously??? I would have needed an adult diaper if I had heard something say that to me. It gave me the heebiejeebies just reading it and I don't usually buy into the fear thing. I am not sure what you saw, but it doesn't sound like it's nice, or wants to have tea in your sitting room. I would probably consider moving if this had happened to me.

Reading this gave me the chills. I like to see the drawing as well, but if you fear that it might come back to haunt you then I would leave it alone. I haven't had sleep paralysis not once in my life, quite frankly i never wanna experience that nor what has occurred with you. I've had my weird occasion where there are shadow in my room or i can see aliens out side my room door when my eyes are shut but this thing would cause me to jump out the window or piss my pants. I not one to pray every night, but if i ever get to a point of what transpired with you or if i'm ever abducted well then i'm start to pray more...

Best of wishes to you, hope everything works out.

Dude, you had a messed dream, then sleep paralysis, then saw part of your dream while being awake.

Where does the ghost or spirit fit into this?

Isn't the most logical conclusion that your brain was still in dream-mode while you were awake?

But he said a voice came out and said, "How does this fell,"
This took place a few days later, but who knows it could be sleep paralysis or something more sinister taking place. I can't say for sure but, none the less this a strange case indeed.
