awesome pics , will put going here on my bucket list.

wish there was more stuff like this on ats instead of all the political trolling and hate mongering threads.

Yea, same here. I wish I was still as adventurous as I was when I was younger. It would be fun to visit this place but it would be awesome to actually discover a place like this.

How amazing would it have been to have found a culture of people in there? What if it were an advanced civilization living in there untouched for the past 10,000 years.

Still an amazing discovery!

Awesome looking place. Sure beats a concrete jungle.

That's where I'll be heading when the solar flares are coming! Might be a bit squishy, but I'm sure all 7 billion of us will fit.

Oh and I think they mean rediscovered. I bet this place has been 'discovered' dozens of times over the millennia.

Seen it before a few times HOWEVER,...
Everytime I see this cave I am more amazed than the last time.
It kind of has a middle earth feel to it.

I wonder how a cave (having no sunlight) can have a forest inside of it?
Weird, but awesome!

I asked the same question myself and I asked the wife.
She says it is tropical and they are more dependant on moisture and warmth, kind of like the stuff on the jungle floor under the canopy.
Makes sense to me.

A paragraph on the linked page explains it.

And as shown in these amazing images taken by photographer Carsten Peter, there is even a jungle concealed deep inside the cave. Because of a collapsed portion of the cave roof, vegetation began to grow and form what would be the largest cave jungle. The jungle is fairly small, but considering its location also fairly incredible. It also has the nickname "Garden of Eden."
