An introduction to my writing.

I would have posted this in the correct forum, but since I am new here, I still must post in Introductions. Please consider this an introduction then, of my writing. Thank you for your interest!

I walk along the edge of a cliff
At the lightest caress of a breeze I could fall

I look at the rocks below
Well knowing the danger

Yet still I flirt with the wind
I dare it to touch me

To tangle its ghostly hands in my hair
It plucks at my clothes, tearing

"Come fly with me," it whispers
"I won't let you fall."

But I know it's a flighty thing
And might abandon its interest

Still I leap off of the cliff
For that brief thrill of flight

Hoping my heart
Will survive the fall

Uhm, yeah, as 74 says, posting anything other than an intro is a no-no. Mods will usually close a thread like this.

But, since you posted a poem, I'm bound to reply.....

You are quite talented in crafting words. (And yes, it's not often a new member just up and posts their soul like that.)

BTW, I clicked on that lil blue button under your avatar, and checked out your threads you've created because your current star count didn't match the tally from your original intro thread and the "Blue Tuesday" story you submitted. I knew you had another thread with couple flags. I found it, and now can be officially as a stalker.

Nah, I'm just another ATS member with OCD and attention to detail. There're habits you develop here after a while, like fact-checking and consistency.

Your poem was moving, denoting a state of mind where you are alone and needing. Alone with your thoughts, you contemplate letting go, but know your body as well as your heart can't take the trauma. You go anyway.

If this is an indication of the quality you'll bring to the table, then I'm glad that you are a member. Kudos.

Looking forward to reading more.

Please excuse my rookiness, lol is that even a word? I doubt it! But you are a very insightful individual, I am very impressed. Thank you for reading my poem, and you will find I have several "styles" if you will, of writing. Some are just random, and others I pull from within. I like to be lighthearted and make people laugh, but there is certainly a more serious side as well.
I read one of your stories, experiences, rather, and I hope to read more! That was truly incredible!

I would venture to say that everyone does, but only a few actually try to write in different styles. The writing contests allow you to focus on a topic, rather than trying to snatch a randomly passing thought and successfully form a story around it. As said earlier, I love reading, and to read stories not found anywhere else is truly a blessing in this life. I encourage you, no, rather dare you, to make an entry into one.

I wouldn't know what to do, or even where to start. Well, technically I thought here would be a great place to start. So I guess you have a point lmao.
Maybe after I've been here a little while and think people might actually like to read my madness, I would certainly love to have a chance to compete with the awesome stories I have seen here.
