then I think of GMO and how people are trying to play god...

some doors we should not open

also as a songwriter..as Kieth Richards of the stones said
he just puts his finger in the air and listens to the song as it comes to him...
I find that is how it goes

where does the music come form?

Yea, GMO, really upsetting.

And music is as close to god as you can get.

Well most, lol

Enjoy,

Gardening? Other people's gardens are great and potentially spiritual.

Mine, on the other hand, is a pain in the a*** and causes nothing but grief. Still, helps me to appreciate concrete and living in a city that is no bad thing!

Well yea, they can be, but that's a normal reaction and spiritual too

someone was thinking of non gardners when they made the universe...

ooops, now I done it

In my imagination when man went from the hunter gatherer, in the garden of plenty, and switched to agriculture, it ruined everything.

Let's face it, the original notion itself had absolutely nothing suggesting its conceptual existence . Any seriously considered suggestions? [/.................................................................................................................................................... .......Perhaps I will give a thought for you pertaining to a short line taken from this great persons reply. Looking through another eye perhaps someday the Nothing will be known and understood as a actual being just as equal as you and I . In the begining who do you think turned the lights on for Everything? The Nothing and the Everything and the Something that lies in between ...Maybe soon they shall understand my side the Nothing for it is a being that may truly be here in silence waiting for you and its time appointed. If one chooses to understand Nothing perhaps a great way to understand it is to understand the deepest meanings of the tarot card.....The Hanged Man ......for the secrets I cannot tell how many have at this moment in time but surely soon All will eventually understand at their appointed times perhaps. Perhaps Nothing is actually your best friend !!..............Have a great day as equall as night my friends !!......take care till next time with love for on april 4 2015 my 49th birthdayupon a red moon perhaps the new mornings birth will have come or perhaps a dream about to fullfill !!................... !!.....The [ Neutral] Fool !!

I do not understand the arrogance of atheists who vehemently attack any form of a belief in God, rationalizing a strong position due to lack of proof of God, when they can give NO proof as to the NON existence of God. I recently saw a documentary about the search for extraterrestrial life, where a scientist stated "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence". This also applies to God. So please, someone indulge me, please present your PROOF of the non existence of God.

The line of thought you are following is one I started at around 4 years of age. I am hardly unique I think most of us are born with existential yearning and before or shortly after it takes hold are taken to church and given are first illustrated book of bible stories. By the time I was 6 the fear of God was firmly planted in my mind. I personally see this as a form of mental abuse. But that's another story. The type of metaphysical thinking you are doing was done by the ancients many centuries B.C. and more completely than you or I will ever do. But religion has also been long used as a way of accumulating power and controlling populations and I think that all of the earths major religions, most of the minor ones, and assorted cults fall into this category.

You cannot prove there isn't a god, because you cannot prove a negative. The burden of proof is on those who say a god DOES exist. So, all you believer's out there, give us the proof.

Not only do I think we created God, I think we all are God.

Now before you flame I say this meaning that ALL of us together form GOD, not our current selfish physical selves, but what powers our souls, what is us, is also all together god.

I understand that this thread was about us inventing god, but on the contrary, I think we formed into God.

Each and everyone of us, as the ability to do anything and everything we want, the only thing holding us back, is each other.

Note that he had to wait until he was a big star in order to speak his mind safely.

It shouldn't be that way in a country with the First Amendment.

Something is wrong in America.

Funny, because those arrogant creationists are trying to get their junk "science" taught along real science in the classrooms. Or those religious folks who are so keen on suppressing the rights of the LGBT community in the name of their holy book.

rationalizing a strong position due to lack of proof of God, when they can give NO proof as to the NON existence of God.

Completely faulty logic. How can you offer proof of something's non-existence when absolutely zero evidence exists for said deity's existence? Can you "give NO proof as to the NON existence of" Zeus? Thor? Cthulu? Nope.

I recently saw a documentary about the search for extraterrestrial life, where a scientist stated "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence". This also applies to God

We know life exists. We are proof of that. It's not junk science to speculate that life could exist elsewhere, should planets with similar conditions to Earth exist. There is, however, absolutely no existence for a god or gods. Nor is there any pretext for the existence of such deities.

So please, someone indulge me, please present your PROOF of the non existence of God.

Indulge me with your PROOF for the non existence of the unicorn under my bed. Or Zeus, for that matter.

Turning the table are we..? first provide that your god exist, THEN we can DEBATE on testing your method to see if we can disprove that god doesn't exist.

Prove me Santa Claus doesn't exist.(not the st, but the fat guy with red suit that coco cola made, which children belief, which i will believe for this argument sake). while you are at it, Tooth Fairy, Leprechauns, Dwarfs, Elves... etc..

So you are willing to concede you cannot prove the non existence of God. If this is so, how can you know conclusively you are correct? answer: you cannot any more than someone who believes in the existence of God.
You are basing your non belief on something that cannot be verified, the exact reason atheists negate a belief IN God by others.

I can judge what I consider wasteful because it's my opinion. I think it's a waste. Who am I to say what I think is wasteful? Me. You don't get to say what I consider wasteful. Some person on the other side of the world doesn't get to say what I consider wasteful. I get to say what I consider to be wasteful. It's not to be confused with what is universally right or wrong, what is universally understood as "a waste", or what should be acknowledged as the lesser choice. It's what I think is a waste.

I think spending time reaching out to a god, or alien life, or whatever have you, is a waste. Me, that's what I think. Is it right? Is it the truth? Who knows. I don't. But I don't have to know in order to have an opinion, albeit an informatively incomplete one, just like everyone else.

I don't consider living life to be making contact with a god of any sort. Others might, and to that I say good for them. But for me, god never crosses my mind when I'm looking out over the massive ocean and it's waves, or looking up at a brilliantly lit night sky. Any idea or feelings about god is very far from my mind and my emotions in that moment of time. Sure, we make constant contact with each other on a daily basis, and that's great. We make contact with all sorts of things on this planet. The difference is I can interact with those things. I make contact with you on here, it's an interaction. I make contact with a dog at the shelter, there's an interaction. I don't contact alien life and get an interaction. I don't contact god and get an interaction. Anybody that gets an interaction with god is either deluding themselves or has mental problems like schizophrenia. If somebody thinks god is interacting with them, they're seeing what they want to see. While I respect their decision to believe what they want to believe, I don't acknowledge that a god is interacting with them. I find that idea to be incredibly egomaniacal and arrogant.

my landlord thinks god talks to him
fine
he is wrong at other peoples' expense often
but because god told him
everyone else and the evidence is wrong

funny it always translates in to less delivery of agreement for him
and more cost to us
