My garden, my sanctuary, my escape from the terrors of this world. To turn a barren piece of land into an abundant source of food, relaxation, hard work, and yet pleasure. The amazement in my daughters eyes as the seeds she planted sprout into their true form. We use nature to sustain our bodies with good organic healthy food.

The peas climbing the fence, and the carrots sprouting like wildflowers. The course of nature sure is great to watch. The beans sprout up and soon take form. Only a month or so longer until we are blessed with more beans than we can eat. The tomatoes and peppers all tucked into their cages as I monitor their new growth everyday. The onions planted firmly and beginning their outward growth. The pumpkin plants that seem to double in size with every watering.

The corn grows taller and begins to sway with the breeze. The lettuce beginning small and quickly growing to in to a cradle for it's heads to grow. The radishes now full grown and ready for the compost heap. The sunflowers growing inches by the day. Soon they will begin to bloom as they follow the sun across the sky. The zuchinni squash, the plant of plenty will soon begin to reward us with sweet golden treats that will bring the customers in.

With water and nature my garden grows strong. Through the heat and the cold it continues to live on. Well fed we shall be, and stocked for the winter as well. My garden brings riches to save us from our hell. No GMO we say, only the natural way for us simple country folk.

My garden, my sanctuary, my escape from the world. What better way to get away from it all than to be productive and gain what nature provides. To those who may, I suggest take a day, and think about the wonders of nature and the many things that it can do for us with just a little hard work. My garden sustains us, brings us joy and pleasure as well as sustenance when needed. When summer is gone she will live on to provide for us another year. Until then I'll cherish your gifts and enjoy the comfort for which you bring.
