Jesus' Crucifixion Date Possibly Friday April 3, 33 A.D., According To Earthquake Study

I have no opinion on this matter,or religion,when it comes to this story.

A new study suggests that the Biblical date of Jesus' crucifixion is, in fact, possible to confirm.

The International Geology Review investigated an earthquake that was said to have occurred the same date as Jesus' crucifixion. Biblical citations combined with geological research suggest the date may have been Friday April 3, 33 A.D. Taken alone, geological research has identified a window from 26 to 36 A.D.

26AD would actually fit nicely with the historical timeline. In 6BC Augustus Ceasar actually did send out a decree for a census in Palestine. this would put him at or about 33 years of age as many scholars believe.

However, and even more significant. If it was actually 33AD... then Jesus would have died at age 40.

40... where have we seen that number before?

I agree & 40 is a significant number in the Bible.

Of all the types and shadows of the Old Testament, none is as pervasive and important as the shadows revealed in the relationship between "forty," and the fulfillment of promises.

The contents of the Ark are ABSOLUTELY EXPLOSIVE, namely: the two TABLETS containing the Ten Commandments, Aaron's rod, and a sample of manna in a pot. All of this would prove, beyond a shodow of a doubt, that the Bible is GOD'S WORD. The Illuminati have invested too much in academia to turn them againist the Bible. I think you have some of your dates confused.

Let's do a little history lesson :

The Roman Emperor Octavian (later Augustus Caesar) lived at the time when Rome was passing quickly from the stage of being a Republic to an 'Empire' ruling under the blanket of Imperium, i.e. Royal Power - and not surprising then that between 30 BCE and 14 CE some major political structural changes began to take place in the Provinces, such as Syria which included Palestine in its control including the 10 Yisroelite-Greek towns of the Dekapolis and the Galilee (Heb. 'ha Gilgal ha Goyim' i.e. 'The Circle of Gentiles')

In 27 BCE The Roman Senate awarded Octavian the title of 'Augustus', and that same year he also received a number of Provinces for a period 10 years (including Egypt & Syria, of which Palestine was part of the latter). There were eventually 12 of these given to him to administer through proConsuls, and in 19 BCE he became Permanent Consul without territorial limitations.

The Romans first annexed Judaea c. 63 BCE when Pompey invaded Jerusalem and the Hashmonean High Priests were then chosen by Rome - in 47 BCE the Hashmonean High Priest Hyrcanus II was made an Ethnarch by Julius Caesar for his help in the Roman civil wars. In 31 BCE, Octavian (later Augustus) made the Idumaean Arabic Herod 'Rex Iudaeorum' i.e. King of the Judaeans.

In 4 BCE Herod ('the Great' !!) died and his sons fled to Rome begging for thrones while Varus the legate of Syria and Palestine and Sabinus the Imperial Procurator 'ruled' the area until Augustus decided on Herod's replacement.

Eventually Herod Archaelaus became Ethnarch of Judaea, Samaria and Idumaea; Herod Antipas was given the Galilee and Peraea (=transJordan) and Herod Phillipos was given the territories North East of the Lake of the Galilee.

In AD 6 Archelaeus was banned to Gaul by Augustus for corruption; and his territory was digested by the Syrian Legate and Quirinius was sent as a consul to Judaea to take a census pf Syria-Palestine in order to sell off the estate of Archalaeus...

That's 12 years later than your 6 BCE for the census - Quirinius later in 6 CE became the Legatus in Syria, and Coponius was sent as Praefectus over Judaea. That was the true beginning of full Roman Rule in Palestine and naturally there were some very bloody insurrections, especially in the Galilee where 'Judah the Galilean' led a revolt in 6 CE which destroyed the town of Sephoris in the Galilee.

The 3rd canonical Greek gospel ('according to Luke' whoever he was) states that 'ho Iesous Nazarenos' was born during the Quirinius Census (i.e. 6CE) whereas the 1st canonical Greek gospel ('according to Matthew' whoever he was) stated as a fact that 'ho Iesous' was born when Herod the Great was still alive (he died in BCE 4 and 70 'prophetic' years after his death, there was a major Insurection against Rome in 66 CE)

So the 1st and 3rd canonical Greek gospels do NOT match each other in terms of dates of the birth of this man. The author of the 4th canonical Greek gospel ('according to John the Elder' whoever he was) seems privy to a tradition that 'ho Iesous' was a lot older (40 and 6 years was this Temple in the building and you will destroy it and rebuild it anew in 3 days? 'but he spoke of the Temple of his Body...') = Herod's 2nd temple restoration project began in BCE 12, so that would be 34 CE when that took place. 'You are not yet 50 years old, and you claim to have seen Avraham ?' i.e. under 50.

Iranaeus (as a young man) received a tradition from Polycarp (as an old man) who in turn took it (as a young man) from John the Elder (as a very old man of 96) that R. Yehoshua bar Yosef was executed at the age of 48 - which would place his Crucifixion for armed sedition against Rome in Pesach 36 CE (c. March 27th)

Pontius Pilatus was Praefectus of Iudaea between CE 26 and March of CE 37 following the death of his mentor Sejanus ('you would have no power at all were it not handed to you from above' seems to have been a double-entendre meaning 'from Sejanus' as well as 'from heaven') - so presumably the execution for armed sedition would have had to have taken place between those years. Since 36 CE was the 100th anniversary of the Invasion of the Roman Army under Pompey into Palestine, THE Insurrection mentioned by the writer of the 2nd Canonical Greek Gospel ('according to Mark' whoever he was) in chapter 15 : 1-5 would have formed the setting for the armed revolt of the 'good Rebbe' from the Galilee, where all armed 'freedom fighter' anti Roman seditionists /ultra right wing Judaean religious Zealots (cf: 'Shimeon the Qanah' i.e. the zealot) were wont to emanate from...

But back to the topic at hand - we are certainly NOT dealing with any Roman census in 6-BCE in Palestine....and the 4 canonical Greek gospels do not have their facts straight..

This is the primary reason that this is THE most important Earthquake to ever occur in history:

When Ron Wyatt spoke to the Angels guarding the Ark of the Covenant in the cave, they explained that God wanted them to be brought out and shown in public as soon as the beast commands that everyone receive the mark of the beast. So God has an incredible strategy behind this discovery and this will have a tremendous impact on the world which is WHY the TPTB HATE this with a passion.

To date there have been at least 16 people who have died trying to interfere or move the Ark of the Covenant:

I can agree to that.

The death of Jesus Christ took place in the spring, on the Passover Day, Nisan (or Abib) 14, according to the Jewish calendar. (Mt 26:2; Joh 13:1-3; Ex 12:1-6; 13:4) That year the Passover occurred on the sixth day of the week (counted by the Jews as from sundown on Thursday to sundown on Friday). This is evident from John 19:31, which shows that the following day was “a great” sabbath. The day after Passover was always a sabbath, no matter on what day of the week it came. (Le 23:5-7) But when this special Sabbath coincided with the regular Sabbath (the seventh day of the week), it became “a great one.” So Jesus’ death took place on Friday, Nisan 14, by about 3:00 p.m.—Lu 23:44-46.

Summing up, then, since Jesus’ death took place in the spring month of Nisan, his ministry, which began three and a half years earlier according to Daniel 9:24-27, must have begun in the fall, about the month of Ethanim (September-October). John’s ministry (initiated in Tiberius’ 15th year), then, must have begun in the spring of the year 29 C.E. John’s birth therefore would be placed in the spring of the year 2 B.C.E., Jesus’ birth would come about six months later in the fall of 2 B.C.E., his ministry would start about 30 years later in the fall of 29 C.E., and his death would come in the year 33 C.E. (on Nisan 14 in the spring, as stated).

April 3 sounds about right, but because the Julian calender doesn't match with the Jewish Calender it changes every year for us. So this year is was Thursday April 5, 2012. Last year April 17, 2011. Next year, it's March 26, 2013.

Can't say that I agree with the Huffington Post or for that matter anyone who states that they know the date of the crucifixion of Jesus. I do not believe that the crucifixion was on Friday. Without going into a lengthy spiel Here is what I had been taught some seventy years ago.

According to scripture there were two Sabbaths and not one as most people believe. Luke 23:55,56 states that Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James prepared anointing spices and oils before the Sabbath. In Mark 16:1 it states that this same Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and another woman named Salome bought the anointing spices after the Sabbath.

Now critics of the bible would naturally take this as proof that the bible is not trustworthy. But you have to consider that there were two Sabbaths in the festival according to John 19:31. We know that the regular Sabbath was on our Saturday or their seventh day of the week and our Sunday was on their first day of their week.

Jesus was crucified on the preparation day for the festival and that preparation was for the High Sabbath. He died about 3 pm that Wednesday afternoon and was interred by Wednesday sundown (about 6pm). Sundown to sunup is twelve hours in Jewish time and sunup to sundown is another twelve hours which is one day. This day would have been the Sabbath High day or our Thursday. Sunup to sundown is another day which would be our Friday. This Friday was the day after the High Sabbath and the day before the regular Sabbath. This was the day in which both Luke and Mark are both correct. Then we have the regular Saturday Sabbath which was ended at about 6pm that seventh day of the week. The Jewish first day of the week began on our Saturday evening at about 6pm.

For anyone who will take the time to look in a Greek Interlinear or Greek Lexicon, turn to Matthew 28:1 and it will show them that it reads "after the Sabbath's " and not the singular Sabbath such as most bibles read. The reason most bibles show singular Sabbath is because the translators of bibles are victims of their church teachings and naturally translators of bibles translate from one language to their own understanding of their own language. This differs from a word to word translation of a true translation.

In this case there is no contradiction in this account even though it still does not set a calender date.

The book of Matthew reads that there were two earthquakes. One quake was at the death of Jesus and the other quake was before the discovery of His absence from the tomb. That would be within the time frame of from 3pm on Wednesday when he died and some time after 6pm on Saturday when the three days expired. Both quakes are described as being great. Don’t really know how anyone can fine tune this into the calendar. If we have one bc and one ad what happened to zero? Don’t remember any calendar with zero to one. Right there you are off the charts by one full year.
