Oricchalcum, the secret of Atlantis!

In Atlantis Plato tells us that they used a metal called Orichalcum which gave off a red light. Plato tells us that by his time the secret of its manufacture was forgotten and that it was only known by name.
Some have suggested that Oricchalcum was simply brass or copper which is outrageous since both metals were known in Platos time plus the fact that Plato clearly said that the three walls were made from “ brass” tin and orichalcum. This clearly tells us that Plato did not consider orichalcum to be brass. Plato would also be very familiar with bronze so it was not that. To add to this Plato said next to gold it was the most precious metal in Atlantis.

I started to wonder if this metal might not have unusual properties, perhaps its property's were responsible for the technology of Atlantis. Think of it this way the properties of silicon are behind all our microchips, without it computers may not exist.

In searching for other historical mentions of this strange metal I found that this metal was used in the construction of some of the most sacred vessels in king Solomon's temple. josephus reported that the vessels in the Temple were composed of Orichalcum in Antiquities of the Jews.

This is where it gets really strange! We find in the bible that the person responsible for all the metal work in king Solomon's temple was Hiram. Hiram is celebrated in freemasonry as being a grand master mason and a descendent of tubal cain. Tubal-cain is regarded as the first human to work with metal however he has a very unusual family secret…his sister was married to Azazel, one of the “sons of god” who mated with humans before the flood. Of Azazel we are told:

"Then the two angels decided to select brides for themselves from among the daughters of men. Azazel desired Na'amah, the sister of Tubal-Cain, the most beautiful woman on earth."

"They Revealed Secrets to Their Wives"

"Azazel taught men to make swords and knives and shields and breastplates; and made known to them the metals [of the earth] and the art of working them; and bracelets and ornaments; and the use of antimony"

Azazel is the one in the bible referred to as Satan, he revealed the “eternal secrets” to his children who were the Nephilim. They misused this knowledge and began to abuse the powers it gave them. A flood had to be sent to wipe out both the giants and all traces of the knowledge that they had revealed to mankind.

Orichalcum may have been the metal which allowed the ancients to cut and move large stones, it could be the key to their technology!

I have nothing to add but speculation unfortunately. If gold was still more rare then this Orchalcum was less uncommon then gold then why can't we find it today? Perhaps it is known by another name?

That's some interesting stuff, and new to me!

The first thing I thought of is the glow of heated metal, or metal conducting an electrical charge. Then I thought about how some stones have an inner light, like sapphire and diamonds. I wounder about a metal having such inner light as well. Hmmm. Food for thought.

well gold and copper as an alloy gives off a red hue/colour.......So maybe it was just that.

also to add any metal giving of a red hue/tint has copper in it

I believe it was an alloy rather then a pure metal such as gold, but it may have had unusual properties.

Bingo! you are on the right track with the vimana link. The power source in the vimana has to be made from an alloy unknown today called "raga loha", it is an alloy composed of three metals. When struck it releases an energy which causes the craft to rise into the air!

Raja loha means the king of metals!

Yes rose gold (Celtic gold) gives off a pinkish hue though I wonder if Plato would not have known about rose gold. One metal which is gives off a beautiful hue is also bismuth.

Orichalcum is considered an ancient alloy, albeit not a pure alloy such as tin, brass, or bronze. for that reason it likely fell out of favor as metallurgy skills increased. There are a number of Orichalcum coins preserved, especially from the Arabic era, and Romans considered it a mix of gold and copper, "aurichalcum" in Latin which gold+copper. It appears the desire for using Orichalcum was to gain the appearance of gold, without the expense of gold.

The 1883 Richard Laurence translation of the Book of Enoch states this in Chapter 8:1

"Moreover Azazyel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and of all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered."

I thought the art of fabricating mirrors and the use of valuable stones was worthy of mention in this thread. The following passages about Azazel were interesting.


Enoch 8:9
"And men, being destroyed, cried out; and their voice reached to heaven."

Enoch 10:12
"All the earth has been corrupted by the effects of the teaching of Azazyel. To him therefore ascribe the whole crime."



Genesis chapter 6 says the Deluge has to come due to the abundance of violence on the earth. The statement at Enoch 10:12 seems to back up the claim that combat and or war was heavy right up to the time of the flood.


I would have thought Samyaza to be identified as Satan rather than Azazel. Samyaza is called the leader of the 200 angels that descended upon Mt Armon or Mt. Hermon. Samyaza said he didn't want to be the only one who desired to mate with human women and so he made a pact with the 200. It seems that Azazel did the most corrupting damage on earth with his art of war teaching.


I passed over this important passage that shows Azezel in more trouble that Samyaza.

"Again the Lord said to Raphael, Bind Azazyel hand and foot; cast him into darkness; and opening the desert which is in Dudael, cast him in there."

Maybe he was Satan. Howvever, in Chapter 68 it says that Azazel and Azazyel were two different angels and that Gadrel was the one that deceived Eve in the garden of Eden.

I have seen old coins made of electrum which is another ancient alloy of gold and silver which is still used today however I have never seen coins made from the red Oricchalcum alloy.

Azazyel is often given goat like quality's in art much like Satan. It was Azazyel who revealed "the eternal secret" to the human/god hybrid and it was the misuse of this knowledge which brought destruction on the earth. The act of interbreeding between the races was considered a sin however those would not have brought the destruction that they did without the tools that were placed in their hands by Azazel.

Note how it is stated that the sons of god "defiled themselves" by breeding with the adamic race and it did not say that they defiled the daughters of adam (man). This clearly tells us that they were considered higher up the totem pole then the adamic race. Basically it would be like one of us mating with a chimp!

Noah was the only one to be found that was "pure in his generations". He must have been genetically of the adamic race.

In the bible we are told something very interesting about the future! "And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man" Luke 17:26

The son of man is Jesus so basically it is telling us that when Jesus returns either humans will be abusing knowledge given to them or it refers to race mixing ie in the days of Noah only he was left that was not racially mixed!

From what I can recall from past life memories, Orichalcum is bismuth that is modified by planetary 'fields' which in turn is modified by human consciousness. My memories from Atlantis days tell me that bismuth occured in all sorts of colours in those days and had many applications. I can recall that the Atlantean city states colonised Europe primarily to get supplies of different kinds of Bismuth/Orichalcum; India however also rose technologically along with Atlantis and required the orichalcum in Europe as well. This resulted in several resource wars (where no one really won). At the sinking of Atlantis, Orichalcum lost its special properties and became the relatively useless substance it is today.

Among uses of Orichalcum was electrcity generation and light projection. They used it on their important buildings (governmental and their temples) to give special mental agility and abilities. It was also used in construction. I'll spill an Atlantean secret, lol. They made thin cylinders or orichalcum (thick wires actually) and put these around an empty plot of land. This in turn allowed another substance called 'simulata' to grow into a building seemingly out of nothing. The exact design of the building was relatively random but they could send a current of electricity at a certain frequency through the wire to determine type of building (residential vs industrial etc).

As far as I believe Oricchalcum is an alloy made from three metals one red and the other two white resulting in a pinkish metal. Many people have speculated that in ancient times sonic devices were used to lift bolders in construction but few have understood that it will only work if the sonic device is constructed from this alloy. In truth it is not the "sound" that is lifting the bolder rather it is the energy wave released from this alloy when it is mechanically reverberated. It is a type of energy that we today do not understand and do not utilise in any way. If it was displayed to any modern human they would mistake it for magic!

Interesting post I must say...so you have past life memories of Atlantis!! I beleive this to be very possible as I have read book with similar accounts about the galaxy / universes where people have vivid memories of the higher consciousness of the universe. I think you should start a thread to share with those interested this precious knowledge ( if you haven't already done so). I know that I would definitely be all over that one if you did.

I have actually met a few people who say they have good memories of Atlantis. This is the problem I have with this, If you ask those same people to give enough information so some of these things can be recreated in our time everyone of them fail! I once was speaking with this guy who claimed to have detailed knowledge of Atlantis from a past life he had. He told me he was an engineer at the time Atlantis sunk. I asked him about what type of power source they used...predictably he said crystals but when I asked him how to actually do it he had not a clue. In actual fact he had not a clue about science or engineering in general! Now I ask you how could that be possible if you WERE actually an engineer in Atlantis, obviously you would be a person with a highly technical knowledge on the subject.

There are also SEVERAL people who will tell you they were Merlin in a previous life, now they cant all be right because there are too many of them. What would happen if we put them all in a room with each other, would they start a magical fight to see who was the real Merlin

This reminds me of the Zero Point Modules that powered the city of Atlantis in the SGA series. These little luminous objects may have been designed after the Orichalcum of Plato's Atlantis.




I also believe something happened in the past that changed the physical properties of things on earth. I think it had something to do with the restructuring of the solar system. The sun and planets are no longer in resonance with each other.

I would have thought that too if I didn't read the first part of Enoch. The book puts Gabriel in a good light by this passage.
