Simple.
Orion's belt is one of the most easily recognizable asterism in the night sky.
The Pleiades, just as recognizable, have just as much mythology attached to them.

What's the connection with illuminatti and Orion?
And illuminatti is a theoretical group anyways, Orion is just stars in the skies.

Peace!

Of course it is. Foolish foolish person. It is a simple fact that Orion is one of the easiest constellations to find in the night sky. That and the big dipper are probably the first constellations that one interested in such things will spy when they first start to star gaze.
That being said, of course there are fables and stories surrounding these large and easily spotted constellations. It was the fact that they were big and easy to find over and over again that gave rise to naming these groups of stars in the first place and attaching them to activities of their gods.

Most of the night sky is surrounded in Mythology. The Pleides, "the seven sisters" I think are less famous, whereas Orion, as you pointed out, is the easiest to recognize.

The three stars in his belt also point downward in a line to Sirius, the brightest star in the heavens.

The star Betelgeus, the upper left most star and shoulder of Orion, the hunter, is also probably the most famous of starts in the sky as it was made famous by the movie of the same name, but also because it is a huge red giant star of recent popularity regarding when it will go supernova.

Betelgeus, Betelgeus, Betelgues....

There is also a movie production company called "Orion" although I don't see it in any current movies, mostly 80's-early 90's

Well that ("downward") would depend on the time of night and your hemisphere.
But I know what you mean.
