We can’t eat the food we grow here, but we are forced to live here.

[...]

They don’t do the work of decontamination although the city measured 1,000,000 Bq to 5,000,000 Bq inside the urban district.

[...]

Sakurai, the mayor of Minamisoma refused the evacuation instructions

So seems as though this May 24th report from a city councilor in Minamisoma (within 30 KM of the Fukushima Reactors) talks about the high levels within the city,

1,000,000 Bq to 5,000,000 Bq

Searching, I found a thread from last year, almost to the day talking about a town being contaminated with 500,000 Bq/kg radiation 75 miles away from the reactors!

500,000 Bq/kg of radioactive Cesium found 75 miles from Fukushima plant
Good thread too!

So, 10 times less contamination was was found LAST YEAR, 75 miles away! Minamisoma is within 30 km! Imagine how badly they and everything was contaminated for the last year! Yes, the town distances between the cities is different, Manamisoma is much closer, and therefore, should be more contaminated, but that seems like a HUGE Amount of contamination!

**Thx for pointing that out- changed thread as i orginially thought it was the same amount of contamination, i didnt see the extra zero!**

The link state 500,000 Bq/kg where the OP is 5,000,000 bq/kg. Thats 10x more than a year ago..

What i find crazy is how these people have lived here, and maybe they are forced?, where its completely contaminated! When will they just realize its not healthy...

Its appears from the report at the top, that the mayor of the town is trying to act like everything is fine! He mentions how the mayor is refused the evacuation instructions inside the 30 KM zone and lets children live there

Thoughts?!

Don't grow anything that's illegal.

Even if it's good for you. Forbidden. forbidden. Take home. Live in jail. Lose Face.

Well, the radiation harmlessly disperses...

How? Using SCIENCE!

Am I the only person curious about the translation here?

Our life depends on the digit of the air radiation levels of 1M high.
We are pretending not to see the 1000000㏃ radionuclides on the soil.
Integrated value of 20 mSv of radiation is considered to be safe and they don't think of accumulated radiation level.
We can't eat the food we grow here, but we are forced to live here.
1000000㏃ around the city hall are blowed up.
Incinerated ashes of 40000㏃ are put inside 50000 yen bags and treasured.
People emote the surface of soil of school yard and put sand which is blown off by the wind and they happily say that the doze of radiation doesn't go up anymore.
People emote the surface of soil of kindergarden yards and put sand which is blown off by the wind and they happily say they don't find any radioactive dust anymore.
The effect of the announce "of decontamination" is spread but in reality they don't decontaminate houses.
There's no method founded to decontaminate 80% of the areas in the mountain but they ask people to go back to their places.
They don't do the work to decontaminate children students houses and more, there's no soil to change.
They don't do the work of decontamination although the city measured 1000000㏃ to 5000000㏃ inside the urban district.
Sakurai, the mayor of Minamisoma refused the evacuation instructions inside the 30kms zone.
Sakurai also let the children live inside the emergency evacuation preparation zone.
