They will find him, there are so many cameras in the mall and surrounding areas it's only a matter of time.

It is too bad there were not any armed citizens there to protect the general population.

No descriptions of the shooter/s yet?
Gang related?
Classic rampage shooting?
Age range?

"I want my officers to have the time to gather all of the evidence," said Blair, adding that investigators will obtain footage from security cameras in the mall and speak to witnesses that come forward.

Most of the other victims — including the young boy — were likely innocent bystanders, he said.

The only exception is likely the man who was killed, Blair said.

"The nature of those wounds do indicate that that individual was targeted," he said.

(Source = same as above)

This is the only update about the murderer so far, and the reason we don't have much is a result of having to go through all the footage still.

That photo is powerful and very much what all Torontonians are feeling right now.

Dude, STFU. If we wanted your opinion, I would have wiped my ass, and asked for it.

Temper temper.
I have only stated the truth, does that hurted you?
This is a harsh world, this won't be the last time innocents go willingly to their death either.

Hope it helps

Seems to me that these shootings are happening more often, in places (GTA) that are generally not known for gun violence. Just a couple of weeks ago we had a shooting in my town (east of Toronto) in a busy parking lot that we frequent quite often. Scary $#it!

Yeah, I'll play. You're a member of Westboro, aren't you?

We all know that gun control simply means the the gang bangers and other undesirables get the fun stuff. I don't need the likes of an American twisting the knife while some unfortunate family lost a loved one this evening.

There's definately something in the food or drink which is turning people crazy!!

Maybe its the 'spray' people keep posting about on this site!!

My own thoughts get distorted on occassion and i think its due to certain foods, herbs that i digest and i dont do drugs before anyone says that i smoke dope!!

Well it's canada where only the criminals have guns, police included. If most were armed and all had training, this kind of thing would happen a lot less often. When I was overseas, I CC'd either one or two guns and always had two clips for each gun.

Cheers - Dave

My concern right now is if they have found
the shooter. As long as he is out there no
one is safe.

all sympathies to the victims

When you have the police getting caught selling guns out of the back door as fast as they come in the front door, collected during a gun amnesty like they were caught in Toronto a few years ago, it dosn't take too many batteries to see that the police and the criminals are mutually advantagiously related:
(You can't have one without the other)

at the expense of the citizen

I've lived at jane and finch, jane and sheppard, jane and wilson, down on the Danfourth, and in the jungle...
intelligent governance would basically fix it all
which is why it isn't fixed

Hmm... Personally, I'm quite happy there wasn't two guns firing in an crowded shopping mall.
The only advantage I see to civilian gun ownership is in defending one's home/place of business, which is totally accessible to any Canadian, provided they maintain a valid hunting licence. Last thing I'd want to see, if I found myself in a situation like this is some johnny commando pulling a piece, trying to play hero and likely worsening an already critical situation.

considering all the people being murdered by nato
a little mall shooting is NOTHING compared to what the real criminals with guns are up too

another tragedy in Toronto... I hate hearing about violence in my home town, especially gun violence. Why does the government even allow companies to manufacture firearms?

If any of you Toronto members are near Queen/Roncesvalles... stop by Conspiracy Culture bookstore and say hello!

Toronto police say an arrest has been made in connection to the fatal weekend shooting at the downtown Eaton Centre shopping mall.

The Toronto Police Service announced the arrest early Monday morning, less than two days after one person was killed and seven others injured in what the city's police chief called a "wanton and incredibly dangerous" shooting.

CTV Toronto's Tamara Cherry says police sources have confirmed that the suspect turned himself in at 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

Police promised swift action in their pursuit of a suspect following the shocking and public Saturday evening attack that left Ahmed Hassan, 24, dead.
