Toronto police say there has been a shooting at the Eaton Centre, a shopping mall in the downtown core. The mall has been surrounded by emergency vehicles.

Toronto Blue Jay Brett Lawrie tweeted that he was inside the mall at the time and sprinted to safety.

According to Const. Victor Kwong, the interior search of the mall has ended and the shooter is still at-large.
Const. Victor Kwong of the Toronto police said that one victim was pronounced dead at the downtown shopping mall. Two more are in critical condition and another has "life-threatening" injuries.
It is not yet clear whether all the injuries resulted from the gun shots.
It only takes one ( possibly illegal ) gun.

"At this time we do not have the shooter," said Kwong. Investigators have not yet released a description of the suspect, nor clarified whether they are looking for more than one person.
