Syria is a battle ground between The West & the Russia & China alliance
And this is very much where all the problems stem. I know there are lots of good people on the ground just trying to do the right thing in difficult
circumstances. But through the limitations with chain of command and a greater adversarial game in play what generally results is an all round $h!+
storm as no clear unified direction for what is actually in Syria's interest is established. An influx of guns and who is left standing is one common
and clear way to sort out these conflicts. I do want to see man reach a stage where reason instead of force can light the way.
Better international discussion through things like START do hold some future promise, but still needs time to mature. With China not signing up, and
justifiably so with some deep geopolitical issues still unresolved, I can see this lack of communication to the detriment of Syria.
As for the nukes, Russia does hold the military ground in Syria with a right to maintain and defend it. From what I can see it is trying to do this in
a responsible way. Once the foreign tanks do roll the death count will sky rocket. Israel does come across as the wildcard as it is trying to build a
smooth road to Europe and very much behind a lot of the US agenda these days.
