In all honesty, posse commentatus became totally irrelevant, the moment the SWAT teams came to be. They are basically paramilitary troops, with a badge pinned to their chests. I wonder if people would have approved their creation at all had they forseen the consequences...... They went from a tool to be used as a last resort during dangerous hostage scenarios, to everyday busts...... Police are getting armored vehicles and drones now. They are a militarized force, hiding behind the facade a badge these days.....

I hear Revolution coming out of ATS'ers loud and clear.

Are you ready? Really ready ?
Got all of your supplies stocked up : water, food, emergency shelter, medical supplies, fuel,
bug-out transportation, survival skills are honed, got bunker, and enough of all those supplies
to keep yourself and family alive for a long period of time ??
Is it all good and organized ?
Had enough practice drills ?
Does everybody know what needs to be done and when ?
Got yourself a tight plan?

Well.. if you do and you think you can take on what ever comes after you...

Then go ahead take out a drone or two !! Heck what'av you got to lose

SMH...everyone is talking about doing something but in the "real world" it's not going to happen and IF and WHEN it does happen two things WILL happen, prison or death. No more ats, google or hot pockets.

...I'm just saying.

High powered laser pointers might be a better option, it has further range and you don't have to worry about a bullet coming back down and hitting somebody.
Something like this: www.wickedlasers.com...

This is guaranteed to mess up the optics of the drone and even burn holes into it if you hold it steady enough.

The only way to take down a drone is to have a bunch of FIM-92 Stingers.
"AND" if your a corrupt Raytheon employee with your corrupt co-workers,this could be easily accomplished .

Well this could turn out to be a civil war then, who knows. It sure seems like the government is preparing for one, especially when you look at their recent purchase of 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets.

Don't they even sell MANPAD's in Texas in the supermarket ?

Makes target practice so much easier, plus you'll have trouble getting a global hawk down with small arms fire.

Or you could construct your own CO2 laser and use a DSLR camera with a telescope and computer to track and aim it. Let the computer do the aiming work for you

I'm not advocating downing drones just yet, but at what point do YOU stop bending over pretending to look for a lost contact lens, and s t a n d u p ?

When I started reading this, I thought the article ment something way different lol. If there buying drone's why not just modify them and put some armament on it, and shoot the GOV drones down. Wouldn't that be EPIC! Consumer drones vs GOV drone dogfights!!!!! Maby some day

I wonder how long it will be until people start shooting at real airplanes.

A reason to take guns away from people?

Most of them fly at very high altitudes - 20,000+ feet.
Out of sight and hearing.
Their greatest weakness is they have to take off and land, somewhere, sometime.
My suspicion is that they changed the FCC rules a while back to accommodate the command frequencies used by these weapons of supreme cowardice.
Maybe the Iranians know something about it.

And so the disease spreads:

VICTORIA Police is considering introducing unmanned drone aircraft to assist in operations, following the lead of US authorities who from tomorrow will begin using them for surveillance, searches and car chases.

Victoria Police has confirmed it is assessing so-called unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for ''potential operational use''. But in a written response to questions from The Sunday Age, a Victoria Police spokeswoman did not spell out what kind of operations. Nor did she reveal how far police plans had advanced. It is, however, the most explicit statement so far on Victoria Police's interest in acquiring high-tech, remote-controlled drones that can be fitted with high-definition cameras and sensors - and, in some larger versions, weapons.

Other agencies, including Queensland police and arms of the Australian Federal Police, are also interested in acquiring drones.

Sky-net evolves it seems.

They will pass a law stating that shooting down a drone will be the same as shooting a person.

Just like shooting a police dog is the same as shooting a human officer. then they will charge you with murdering a police officer.
