Just enough coverage if you look for it, mixed in with numerous other "snippets" of headlines so you probably would miss it:

LOS ANGELES — Across the vast Pacific, the mighty bluefin tuna carried radioactive contamination that leaked from Japan's crippled nuclear plant to the shores of the United States 6,000 miles away — the first time a huge migrating fish has been shown to carry radioactivity such a distance.

"We were frankly kind of startled," said Nicholas Fisher, one of the researchers reporting the findings online Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The levels of radioactive cesium were 10 times higher than the amount measured in tuna off the California coast in previous years. But even so, that's still far below safe-to-eat limits set by the U.S. and Japanese governments.

Why are they startled. It's kinda' obvious. Haven't they been watching the news. How can they say they didn't know?
Oh, right. I forgot. This isn't really a newsworthy story. Just the continued irradiation of the entire Northern Hemisphere that's been going on for more than a year now, unabated. And uncovered by the MSM. Hidden so well the average Joe on the street can't even remember what Fukushima is.

Is that "safe-to-eat limit" the one they had before Fukushima happened, or the one afterwards. You know, the "new" higher "safe-to-eat" limit.

dont eat any fish, unless you know the source of where it came from. Anything in the pacific or Indian ocean, stay away. This is human error, we all should be at fault, for making nuclear reactors. we are destroying our own habitat. Sea creatures are here long time ago before us and we are killing them slowly. We all need to do something about this, this is our home folks, let the voices be heard.

It's not just bluefin but also yellowfin tuna - including seafood.
