BREAKING!!! Gunman hold up in Dallas sky crane LIVE FEED

A gun man who carjacked someone earlier has climbed a sky crane and has threatened to shoot police.

Police have returned to the airport to take chopper door off and load a sniper on board. edit.i dont think no chopper is coming someone on the feed said that

Is the guy on the crane a sniper? If he is armed with a handgun, he is basically harmless up there. They have SO MANY options for getting a guy off a crane, LOL! The first thought that comes to my mind is 220 VAC and some jumper cables, LOL!

A sniper shot from a helicopter is not easy. Tear gas onto his platform, or buck shot, or just shake the crane.

It is also starting to get dark. Does the gunman have a night vision scope?

I am in Dallas myself...Well just north of there, really. I am not seeing anything on the local news yet. Of course, that does not come on until 10 pm, but they have not broken in with the news or anything.

So, as of yet, there is nothing I can really report from a local point of view. But if I hear anything special, I will let you guys know.

EDIT: I am watching the live feed from the link...Not much is happening. I don't even see movement in the crane.

Yep. In all likelihood, they will just surround the exit and wait. If he doesn't have a powerful assault rifle then he isn't dangerous, and even if he does have a powerful assault rifle, he would have to prove he intends to use it before they would authorize their own snipers.

This will probably be a 30 hour cat and mouse game that ends with a hungry and humble surrender.

I wonder if he'll off himself? All that isolation and stress could lead that to that being the conclusion.

They did just zoom out and there are five cop cars that I see and traffic is still going through the area... What is up with the lack of response?

I would think that if there was a gunman up in a crane they would close the area off to bystanders...

I guess not?

They don't seem to find him much of a threat...

The more that log on, the more it will pause. But, there is probably also a digital delay in case he does off himself. They will cut the feed before they show his brains splatter on the glass.

This is boring, get some action already.

Maybe the guy lost his wife and job and going through a tough time.

oooh cops just pulled up! HOpefully something will happen. it keeps PAUSING to me though. argh. But yeah I agree it could last 20 hours with zero incident. hope so. no one needs hurt. I bet he regrets his actions too. Cant have do overs though. wonder what made him carjack in the first place.

It's not pausing for me. It did skip once for a second but it is streaming pretty well for me, surprisingly.

Listening to local KRLD 1080 radio... crane is near SMU campus... guy is still up there... the only construction activity I know of there is the new G.W. Bush prez library.. police not sure the guy really has a gun... he contacted cops himself (cell phone?) and said he is armed... streets being blocked off around the area...
