As a recent UFO/alien hobbyist, I pretty much search videos that are posted each day on the internet as some of you may know. I have many flags and stars from videos that I do post, so I will try to keep the trend.

If I try to become more active (2-3 hours everyday) would you guys want to vote me as the UFO Youtube guy. I will search all of the videos everyday using search filters and will only post to these forums that I think are genuine. I have very skeptical mind, so trust. I know this may appear selfish to some, but you guys can still feel free to post videos. (But i will be the better posted
, sorry!)

I WON'T post UFO videos:

1. that cut short when UFOs are still in sight
2. that are filmed by a potato (very low quality)
3. that have UFOs stationary, including ones where they glow in different colors/and that may disappear/fade, reappear, get brighter (this is usually Planet like Venus, or just bright stars, and when they fade it usually means cloud bank going in front)
4. that have UFOs in constant slow speed, these are indications of:
- Known aircraft (E.g. you will know it's an aircraft by the blinking of lights in a constant pattern, and some you can hear the sounds)
- Flying lanterns (E.g. they appear as orange orbs, sometimes diff colors, floating at a slow constant speed, rising up and fading into the distance!)
- Satellites (E.g. these look like tiny spec of dot that are really high altitude moving at slow constant speed!!!)
- Blimps/balloons (Obviously you can see by shape!)
5. that looks like obvious CGI/editing/color distortion
6. that are time lapses, as we can't really detect/see the normal and accurate speeds of UFOs from these videos
7. that look like a ball of fire, including shooting stars! (these are meteors!!!)
8. that are filmed by special night-vision/color distortion cameras (unless it's something convincing)
9. that are zoomed in on the UFO all the time (we need to see the surroundings)
10. that are filmed by HORRIBLE camera guys (the camera guy shakes the video all the way through!)

I WILL post UFO videos:

a. that basically exclude these points above
b. that have very fast speeds not known by current aircrafts
c. that have unknown pattern of movements (E.g. UFO turning suddenly, zig zagging, stop and move)

Extra points:

I WON'T post videos from any UFO groups channel: (unless very convincing)
xxxdonutzxxx
Thirdphaseofthemoon
ADG
crazybreakingnews
Or the many others that systematically post fake UFO videos

I WILL post UFO videos:
After I've checked the youtubers channel for obvious hoaxes

I know I'm new forum-er, but do you guys think I need more time and speculation from others to what i post before I do this? Should I drop this idea because it's lame?

Search away my friend. I await your findings.
I am currently dedicating my YouTube searching for "naked man eating another mans face off." Nowadays, it seems it's all the rage.

Being a UFO researcher in my view is not about posting youtube videos , if you really want to be a researcher take a leaf out of the book of the real researchers , search and read threads by ....
kandinsky , Karl12 and Isaackoi , they offer the kind of research you should aspire to and could emulate , there are still good undiscovered cases out there as shown by IMSAM Here

There are many that post videos on this site but only a few put the real effort in and research .
Good luck

Would you guys consider me as UFO Video Searcher?

Yes,

Absolutely. I think that would be wonderful to have a dedicated person on that important task. I can already tell from your list that you are heading in the right direction. And it looks like you are going to take Gortex's advice and that's good.

Can we have sort of a "cybersk8er signal" like the bat signal so we know when one of your posts are up? Maybe a regular tag-line in your posts?

Thanks for offering to take on such a big job. I know you will do wonderfully.

X.

Are you going to be just posting anything that you cant identify or things that you honestly believe have a good possibility of being a real visiting alien craft?

The first thought crossing my mind was that among the thousands of active forum members there are already many that check the major video outlets daily, but I must say that as your list is obviously one that many of them do not adhere to, my hopes are up! I still don't think you should aspire to be "the UFO Youtube guy" - such a central role and label may add a lot of social stuff without actually increasing the quality of your threads, and if people agree that your posts are good enough to earn you that label, then you won't need it because people already recognize you as such! Maybe I interpreted some of your words too literally though - ignore this paragraph if I did
.

I think points 6 and 7 are a bit too exclusive. Timelapses have some upsides: the camera is (usually) mounted, and shutter times can be a lot longer than of normal videos. Of course this makes CGI a lot easier, but it also makes for the best quality of video (avoiding human-induced blur/shake/etc. is great), and often a clear frame of reference. Just this week there was a timelapse video in which the stars were clearly visible. In such a case, there's a lot of data that can be gathered just by analysing the movement of the stars, something which is near impossible in hand-held shots with normal shutter speeds. I'm a bit less sure about point 7, but it made me remember a video of something burning up, could have been a chinese lantern on fire and disintegrating except that it kept going for some time and looked more like molten metal dripping down. Not sure what the conclusion was, but it was interesting, and I think there could be some other gems in there that you could miss if you just skip them right away. So I suggest an "(unless it's something convincing)" for 6 and 7 like there is for 8. Of course "convincing" is quite subjective, but I'm sure you can filter out anything that really isn't.

Also, perhaps you could include flares / chip overload / other optical and/or technical artefacts in #8.

Good luck, and have fun!

That's not a title most people would proudly wear as a bade of honour. I pity the fool who wastes 2-3 hours a day "researching" nonsense.

I say go for it.
Just, please, mind your list of restrictions.

Also, stay away from the "OMGWTF is this by the SUN!!!!!" type videos.

Anything that is just an light in the sky, even if it maybe kinda sorta is doing something kinda UFO-ish should probably be avoided too.
Orbs, schmorbs. Most often they're those silvery balloons.

Sure, if you can find something interesting, that looks like it might come from a non-hoax source, go for it.
It's your time to spend.

As Gortex recommended, I also recommend looking at the top researcher material, and doing a little delving of your own. You don't have to put as much effort into it as some, but, nothing worth having should be expected to come easy, and even then, great sacrifice and effort simply amounts to lots of wasted time and effort.
Go for it.
Set your standards high.

I further recommend staying away from anything associated with Jaime Maussan, and other sorts of his type that while commendably enthusiastic, have zero filters or standards.

Maybe you could stop by: www.abovetopsecret.com...&flagit=845225
and give some of your analyzing talent to the video posted there.
There were multiple sightings on this one.
Peace
