"U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Sunday indirectly confirmed recent remarks by the Ambassador to Israel that the U.S. is “ready from a military perspective’’ to stop Iran from making a nuclear weapon if international pressure fails."

“We have plans to be able to implement any contingency we have to in order to defend ourselves,’’ Panetta said on ABC’s This Week."

We've been waiting for this for some time now.

Confirmation straight from the U.S. Defense secretary. The clock is ticking down, troops are ready, and the last rounds of diplomacy have begun.

Panetta's words imply that this will not be just a U.S. effort, either. Other nations apparently have gathered arms, as well.

Now the uneasy quiet before the storm begins.

Know you are being lied to. Understand that attack will happen in the near future that will more than likely blame Iran in some way unleashing the worlds most bloodiest war as predicted and planned for around the year 2015.

Panetta/Obama administration needs to run this by Congress. I hope they tell the Prez to take a hike. I'm up for an impeachment and the legislative branch needs to know the U.S. doesn't want this war. The "We are going to wipe Israel off the map" statement never happened.

I think a better analogy for US conduct in the middle east/asia is more like "chess" crossed with "monopoly". Somehow, Washington keeps deploying new tricks to overthrow governments and secure vassal states in the region. The end goal, of course, is the encirclement and check-mate of China and Russia.

Iran was one of the first victims of US aggression in the region when we overthrew their democratically prime minister in 1953. The Iranians reclaimed possession of their country in 1979. And the western propaganda has been a raving, anti-Iran propaganda machine ever since.

Fedgov keeps rattling sabers and claiming they are ready to defeat Iran. The reality might prove different. With the right leadership, plans and materials, there is no reason Iran could not win in any conflict short of nuclear. Even if Iran was nuked, they could still defeat the US with biological, chemical or other technologies.

Little Vietnam kicked the living # out of both the US and France. If an Iranian win would stop Washington's world-wide gangster conduct, it could not happen soon enough.

So you don't need to even find WMD's anymore, only have to think that they are being made.....clever.....well actually just slightly less stupid than what happened with Iraq......

Unfortunately there will not be a next time. When the war begins with Iran, China and Russia with their allies will protect Iran. This will be the beginning of the Great War that the world has not seen. Nuclear missiles, cities decimated, thousands of high tech aircraft manned and unmanned zipping the skies like flies. Blood in the streets, no help from anyone or anywhere. This is the final chapter. The beginning of the end but a new beginning for mankind.

Sorry Panetta but we are not "ready" to fight a war with Iran in any sense of the word. We have insufficient ground forces and a severe lack of financial resources to be going off on yet another punitive expedition to destroy those who won't obey the will of NATO.
More than that we lack the moral grounds to be attacking a country who has already suffered so greatly from US policy and intrigue.
This is a sure sign that the USD is ready to lose it's position as the world's reserve currency. An attack on Iran is a feeble attempt to stave off the inevitable economic collapse that will ensue and the public backlash against those who have squandered the wealth of a once-great Nation.
