C'mon now! I know there are a few people out there who love ABBA but keep it secret.

I love ABBA. I love singing along. They are most known for (at least in the US) for "Dancing Queen" and "Take a Chance on Me." Having listened to most of their unknown material, I can say , IMO, they have much better songs than those two. They do have a lot of talent and those girls can sing. I only wish I could sing like them.

Yea, the cheesiness factor could be up there sometimes, but they were a talented four people and I'm here to proudly announce I love them.

Ok closet ABBA fans! I want to hear from you! Now's your time to admit it to yourselves and the world.

Don't know about being a closet ABBA fan. I know when I hear a song, and like it, I like it. ABBA introduced themselves to me on Malcolm in the Middle, when Bea Arthur did her guest appearance. They had a few songs, if I recall, through out the series. So, I think we can safely assume that the writers/directors of MitM enjoyed some ABBA too.

www.youtube.com...

It's a video of the Bea Arthur scene to fernando for any curious. Always was a big Bea Arthur fan, I can't think of a bad role she played. But that's enough straying. Cool thread idea ^.^

Chiquitita, one that will always be found in my playlists. But, i do enjoy most of their songs.

Still, the Mama Mia movie sucked

My daughter was listening to Angel Eyes sometime in the week. Saw her head bopping, thinking we can't hear what's playing on her headset. Yeah, if every person had to be honest about ABBA...

Look at Agnetha. Does she look like she cares, at all, even one tiny bit about your thread-reading motivations? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I love ABBA! Never been in the closet about it. Of all the Disco groups, them and KC and the Sunshine Band were the best.
I learned the words to this song just listening to my radio.....

Hey all, thanks for the replies.

I've been listening and (trying mind you) to sing along for years. I remember my favorite was "Take a Chance on Me." I was about eight and for some reason my mom hated that song. I'm not really sure why. I think she said it reminded her of a train or something.

I still think that song is my favorite of theirs. I ended up buying all their albums (CDs) and have listened a LOT over the past ten or twelve years. I've even tried to learn some Swedish, in case I make it over there some day.

I was nine when they toured North America and of course I didn't get to go. Thanks parents.

I didn't particularly care for the "Mamma Mia" movie either. But I enjoyed singing along. The real thing is SO much better.
IMO

ABBA music is pretty upbeat and can make me feel somewhat happier when I'm having an ugly day. Although, their last album, The Visitors, was darker than their previous ones.

Goofy sometimes they were, they were definitely not lacking for talent.
