Zakheim served as a foreign policy advisor to George W. Bush...He was part of the Project for the New American Century.
From 1987-2001, Zakheim was CEO of SPC International, a subsidiary of System Planning Corporation, a high-technology analytical firm. In September 2000 Zakheim is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations
He was then appointed as Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) from 2001 in George W. Bush administration, and served in this capacity until April 2004. During his term as Comptroller, he was tasked to help track down the Pentagon's 2.3 trillion dollars worth of unaccounted transactions
The Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)/Chief Financial Officer, is a high level civilian official in the United States Department of Defense. The Comptroller is the principal adviser to both the Secretary of Defense and the Deputy Secretary of Defense for all budgetary and fiscal matters.
In 1996, Zakheim's book Flight of the Lavi: Inside a U.S.-Israeli Crisis was published, detailing his role in ending the IAI Lavi program, an initiative in the 1980s in which Israel researched and developed its own fighter jets. Zakheim reinforced the U.S. position that Israel should not produce an aircraft that would compete with the U.S. F-16, arguing that it was more efficient for Israel to buy jets from the United States.
Today the Israeli Air force has the largest fleet of F-16s outside of the United States.
On September 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld held a press conference to disclose that over $2,000,000,000,000 in Pentagon funds could not be accounted for. Rumsfeld stated: "According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions." According to a report by the Inspector General, the Pentagon cannot account for 25 percent of what it spends.
Such a disclosure normally might have sparked a huge scandal. However, the commencement of the attack on New York City and Washington in the morning would assure that the story remained buried. To the trillions already missing from the coffers, an obedient Congress terrorized by anthrax attacks would add billions more in appropriations to fight the "War on Terror."
The Comptroller of the Pentagon at the time of the attack was Dov Zakheim, who was appointed in May of 2001.
Zakheim later joined the PNAC, a neoconservative organization that played an important role in driving public and official support for the invasion of Iraq before and after the 9/11 attacks.
Zakheim contributed to a PNAC paper titled, "Rebuilding America's Defenses."
The PNAC paper opines that in the absence of some "catastrophic" event akin to Pearl Harbor, such reforms would happen at a glacial pace. A year later, 9/11 seemed to provide such a spark to the kind of rapid transformation envisioned.
Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.
That is why,according to the CIA, a number of regimes deeply hostile to America – North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Libya and Syria – “already have or are developing ballistic missiles” that could threaten U.S allies and forces abroad.

And that is the area of the plane with the landing gear, which means it is the area of the plane that receives the most stress on landing explaining the reason it is so bulky (in case anyone wanted to bring up the shape of the area).
