Hey everybody!

After lurking ATS for some time (years...), I have decided to join and add my opinion from time to time.
I intend to be a voice of reason and try to be open. But open, from my point, does not mean I accept every crackpot theory
I must admit that I am quite skeptic about most that is written here but it is interesting anyway and who knows:

Welcome to ATS. Maybe you could clear up some confusion? Does the CH stand for Cheese? I could understand SW or SL but CH? Is this some secret abbreviation only known to members of the corrupt (albeit neutrally corrupt) banking system? Or maybe the Papal thing, Swiss Guard probably have some not so neutral knowledge in their possession by now...

ETA Flags are a kind of electronic appreciation awarded to the poster of a thread. As it's an intro thread, we get all warm and fuzzy and free-spirited. On the main forums it's a lot more cut-throat.

Flags are awarded to threads via the "Flag Thread " buttons at the top and bottom of each page.
Stars are awarded to posts (the little blue things) and count as the same, electronic appreciation, agreement, etc for the poster of that particular post. Hope it helps.

Either Democrat or Republican, what is the big difference?
If I may be so bold, you Americans would probably fare better with more than two big parties and more direct democracy. Or at least some more continuity to give more stability. But then again, it is a completely different country with differing history, ethnicities, geography, etc.
And just to say, I am actually quite pro-America and every American I have met up until now has been easy to get along with. But current politics is rather worrying. But do not worry, we have our political dimbulbs as well...
Everytime I try to grasp what is going on in the world, I come to the conclusion that I will probably always have too limited information to have a truly balanced opinion.
All in all, the world is not going to end (Reminder: Party like it is the end of the world on 21/12/2012, sleep in the day after). The rich will be getting richer, the poor will be screwed over some more...
