The less inteligent folk also don't have a concept of what intelligence is. They don't know what the Bell Curve is either other than a book title. They heard that 100 was the average IQ and the older, biased ideas said that white males average was higher than black males average, so of course, all the white males just assumed that each and every one of them was above 100. that's not how it works. If the average is 100 and it follows the bell curve, HALF of all people are BELOW 100 and half are above. 100 is average, normal, one standard deviation above and one below would be the normal range and that's where about 68% of the population falls. Two standard deviations above and below would contain 96% (rounded off to nearest percent) of the population. The standard deviation is 15, so 96% of the population falls within 70 and 130 on the IQ scale. The outliers on the negative side are the severly mentally handicapped. The outliers on the positive side are the members of MENSA.
Logic would say that 96% of the posters here are between 70 and 130, but, as with all areas of social interaction, it's often truncated on the negative side, so more than likely, they fall between 90 and 130 with 4% being higher than 130.
Just as a final note, the internet tests you take, they aren't accurate. They're made to put everyone around 120-180 to boost your ego and get you to click on their ads. Don't rely on them. Take the Stanford-Binet or take the GRE, they have a nice little tool to give a pretty accurate estimate using your GRE data since it's closely aligned with an IQ type test. Regardless, you have to have it given to you by a living, breathing person if you want accurate results. It would be like using wikipedia as your source for your doctoral thesis, it just don't work that way.

If you went to school for 13 years and cannot read, cannot locate your position on a world map, and have no idea who the first or current president of your country was/is then what could you possibly offer the universe? I'll tell you what such a person can offer. They offer the opportunity of being manipulated far too easily, thereby paving the way for power grabs by incideous forces.....such as Monsanto, or ALEX. They offer nothing useful and consume resources. Sterilized!

What "same thing" was said about either of those groups? What point are you addressing, exactly?

Averages are the same. Outliers exist in both groups. Equal is equal. You want to focus on the past, on history, but historically, there was "oppression". With PRESENT data, it's clear that gender does not determine success or failure no matter how much you may want it to.

When did I say that gender determines success or failure? I said that there are things men tend to excel in and there are things women tend to excel in. What makes you think I "want" data to confirm these things?

No, not at all. I knew you were female from reading posts of yours in other threads where you hinted at this. I didn't assume anything else about you in terms of skin colour, ethnicity or religious beliefs. Just because an individual defends a certain group of people does not mean they are from that same group.

That's because your ego puts women below you, not fact, not data, your ego.
Therefore, anyone who disagrees with you must be female, but it doesn't work that way. People disagree with you because you are wrong.

What do you know about me or my ego? Those are some pretty unwarranted assumptions you have made.

I'm not really into sterilization all that much. My original mention of it was almost in jest. Though it doesn't seem all that unreasonable. Sterilization certainly seems inhumane, but that depends on perspective. Is it more inhumane to sterilize those least likely to produce desirable offspring or to let people suffer in a future where there are too few resources? We practice population control of animals and call it humane. Why not humans?

It's probably more likely that gene manipulation will make sterilization unnecessary.

I do not claim to be highly intelligent. But I can spell fairly well most of the time and I am able to locate myself on a world map. It's not like I'm trying to get rid of average people.

"Men and women are equal" right? But more should be expected from women than men. How about both can do well?

Unfortunately gender/racial equality has been hijacked by a number of hypocritical, self serving idiots who deserve whatever dire straits they were confined by prior to being "set free". They're playing by the same rules as their oppressors which defeats a need for any positive change to occur in the first place. MLK Jr. was a much greater man than most people know safe to say, and now he's being reduced to the likes of Rev Al Sharpton when they shouldn't be in the same camp.

I'll support what you said here. MLK produced an infallable message. There were no racial hatred under tones like we see with some other "civil rights leaders". I am fond of an earlier civil rights leader, WEB DuBois. He was a little more fiery than MLK, but I like him as he was a student of my own chosen field.

My GRE score was the reason MENSA contacted me and the reason I ended up taking the Stanford-Binet and the reason I was a member until I decided I didn't like it much

Since you attended meetings did you notice a disproportionate number of red headed people? In Mensa pics that I've seen almost half the people had red hair. Just an observation.

you can cherry pick whatever study you want, still won't see anything other than a black dominated 100 metres or a white dominated swimming podium- may not be "brainpower" related, but it shows how groups can have certain characteristics- you can understand this and still treat people as individuals

Too numerous to count studies prove that all of hte races are intellectually equal. I've never seen a study that conclusively showed the races had different genetic IQ's. What can be shown is that the different races have made different choices. These choices have led htem to different outcomes. These different outcomes have led to different IQ's - not genetic, but tied to development.

More than that, the differences observed in the nations with respect to wealth and education level are not of genetics but of chance and choice alone. We cannot change chance, it's like background radiation. But what can be said is that chance is like a cloud that covers the earth in roughly equal amounts. We can change choice. The US is a superpower because it chose to rise above and excel and also because of the opportunities that presented themselves. Every moment is a chance and a choice. We should not feel sorry for a nation that has less than another simply because it's highly unlikely they've made good choices. Not everybody should win, in fact, that's impossible. There's a finite supply of resources and wealth and this must be distributed according to the accomplishments of individuals. Not everybody can be the top dog, so rewards will not be equal.

This is also why I believe we should not tax the rich more than the poor. The rich earned every penny and have no innate advantages over the poor, so rewarding them for their work is deserved. What we should do instead of raking the rich is to teach the poor how to make good choices. If it fails then walk away from it. You can lead a horse to water but can you make it drink? Obviously no.

The reason there're so many welfare and entitlement programs in this world is precisely because people believe there're innate differences between races, genders, groups, and others.

Eliminate this excuse and people have to accept their own failure to make the right choices. Once understood, we can stop giving away money to people who choose not to learn and be upright.

Please tell me that this is some kind of Joke? What sort of person would even conduct tests or investigations into a subject so f**!ing ridiculous.
More to the point, were these people paid?
Last but certainly not least, are you sure that those who discovered this were not infact sharing the same brain cell?

No offence to the OP but its things like this that cause the divisions between religions, colors, languages, classes and locations.
Who ever funded this research should be questioned as to what grounds they thought the topic neccesary.
