So illegal searches are the norm in Chicago?

Check this video out. This is Tim Pool, a ustream live journalist. He goes to most of the East coast Occupy events and tries his best at getting non-biased information.

This happened last night. His vehicle with Luke (another ustreamer) and Himself and few others were heading to their appartment. Noticed things had been misplaced. They had been raided. They hopped in their car and started driving around. They then were stopped in the middle of the road by about 3 or 4 police SUV's and squad cars. They were detained at gun point.

This is rather interesting video I thought was needed to be shared. If this is the norm for citizen journalists, what is next?

I saw on another thread how they were detained as well?? It doesnt seem to be the case after watching this video... seems like they were stopped for under 10-15 minutes at tops, cause they went right back to live streaming...

That is pretty crazy the cops raid their place, so they leave, and a dozen cop cars pull them over guns drawn, get the F out of the car!!!

I can't see drawn guns in the video...but I wouldn't be surprised if they did because one idiot in the backseat has his hands outside the car pointing a camera at the police officers.

If I was a police officer and I see someone stick their hands out the window pointing something at me...I'm drawing my gun as well.


In short...I think these guys are drama queens.

If you full screen it, you can see his other hand outstretched in the air open palmed, showing nothing in his hand. The other had his phone still live streaming. Once more, its not the fact of the procedure, its the fact these are photo journalists. Why are they being detained at gun point in the first place. They gave no reason to have guns drawn on them. They gave no reasons for a search of their vehicle or a quick detainment.

I dont see a single drawn gun in the video. Not saying its not there. But I dont see it. Also, looks like the cops left them alone after a very brief search. Not defending the CPD. Just saying the video doesnt show much of what you claim it does.

As for your claim in the OP that their apartment was searched, where is the evidence of that? Also, why would they go out and drive around in the middle of the night after they discovered their place had been searched?

I follow Tim's twitter. I cant provide any proof, I know that will be enough to crucify me.

If its not in your mindset an issue, read and move on. I cant provide anymore sources or proof.

So... are these actual journalists? Or just some kids who blog and ustream?
