First possible near-collision of unmanned drone and commercial aircraft in US airspace.

The other day there was an announcement of the deployment of armed drones over US airspace.

Various points were brought up that the idiots (invariably) piloting these things without FAA approved flight plans and carrying live ordinance over populated areas areas would pose serious threats to public safety.

So there you have it folks, likely the first in what will likely be a long line of "oopsies" involving the weaponization of US airspace.
