The sad thing about this is that if Anon leaked direct, verifiable documents saying that we faked the moon landing and perpetrated 9/11 with big ol' official stamps in the corner, still people wouldn't believe. You know, I know, and TPTB know it...

Maybe it was you who was listening to false anonymous claims - Anon even said they won't be closing facebook as they use and abuse the tool for personal reasons. And why would a hacking group want to shut down the internet?

Unless it was Very substantial. Say, specific call-outs and parts of the LEM and its contractors with names and dates...and comments about how it would not hold up in the lunar environment, etc. Things which undisputably could be traced to living people/places.

I dont understand the cynicism. I dont know if the leak will come to fruition or not. I will sit on the fence and see what happens. If it does im sure there will be juicy stuff. Most of us on ATS are more than aware there is a lot going on that we are not privy to.

A: Right now we have access to every classified database in the U.S. government. It's a matter of when we leak the contents of those databases, not if. You know how we got access? We didn't hack them. The access was given to us by the people who run the systems.

I just recently watched "Hackers Wanted". I'll be honest, I was nervous to watch it because I didn't want to be tied or affiliated in any way with the hackers, but I saw Kevin Spacey was the commentator so I felt comfortable... Anyways, it mentions how venerable our country actually is and that there are hackers in China who are "behind" the major attacks to the US. (Idk if it’s creditable but it raised new possibilities). It also mentions that the hacker community is strongly against using "its" powers for negative reasons and would out anyone who did. This leads me to believe that it isn't a group of good people who turned rogue (and is trying to "make a change").

I'm think Anon is really just a smoke screen by the Chinese or terrorist group to divert attention. Check out the movie and let me know your thoughts.

As much as I would like to believe in Anon, I also have trouble with the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and of course Cupid. From what have researched Anon is very possibly a CIA front org much like Al'CIA'da. If they want to prove themselves, they need to sh*t or get off the pot. when i first heard about the group anonymous i was happy that all the behind the scenes bullsh*t that goes on would be brought out into the open..but like other membera have said in this thread, they fail to deliver. "actions speak louder than words" is what my parents always told me. talking is one thing anonymous, doing is another. just saying.

It's true that the most sensitive data is not connected directly to the internet and has physical as well as cyber controls on it, people need look no further than the WL incident to see how Anon could gain access to the most sensitive classified data.

The system Manning copied the information off of was also one of these type of systems. It was compromised by someone how had access making a physical copy of the data and smuggling it out to the real world.

We do a lot of talking about the things we see our government doing that disturb us and sometimes we wish we could do something about it without resorting to a violent revolution. The people with access to these systems are no different than the rest of us. Some of them are very intelligent and will have some of those same doubts and questions the rest of the population holds.

While I have my own doubts that they really have access to "everything" they probably have access or copies of some pretty interesting stuff. While I wouldn't want to see anything released that would really put our country in danger it sure would be nice to have some more pieces of the UFO / ET puzzle or even the solution.

That by itself would have the potential to take down a lot of people in government and result in a lot of pissed off citizens. Based on my own research the reasons for the US Government continuing to stonewall on the subject are not just due to technology transfer but also relate to abductions and missing persons. If / when it comes out that our government has basically signed off on 30k people per year being "taken" permanently for scientific study there's no telling what will happen.

It it would get files how exactly? floppy disks, cd's,dvd's maybe? I can under stand no usb ports because of keyloggers but no lan ports seems interesting basically you would have to punch in the files directly into the computer and that seems almost super time consuming . I know government agency's have their own ip addresses and a secret internet only people with these ip addresses can get on I don't think they uses the same TCP/IP protocols we use making it impossible to communicate using a normal computer what you talking about is a very expensive file cabinet

Well you are only partially right. The government does have their own set of IP numbers known as the Class A range. Anyone can access them with an internet connection though. Any IP address falling within the range of 1.0.0.1 to 126.255.255.254 is a government protocol. Most of what you access on the internet is a Class C protocol. The machines that valuable data is stored on most likely do not have anything recognizable as an internet protocol because they are completely disconnected from the internet.

Anonymous could have classified data and their are many ways outside of hacking a network to obtain data. It's taught in intro level network security classes that administrators should be aware of Social Engineering attacks, employees compromising information, and even physical unauthorized access via employee credentials like ID cards or key codes.If wikileaks could obtain what they did, rest assured there are still plenty of people out there that can.

Im calling them out:

I'm actually fully correct I know all about the IPv4 classes have taken 2 years worth of information security classes. Whats funny is most of what i say goes over peoples heads or is picked up by people who have very basic understanding of what I'm saying. I'm not saying the government doesn't have some computers off the internet that store information but to believe that the government basically flys files to the location of the offline computer is well ludicrous. A better example would be they send the files to a secure computer where the off line computer storage is the files are copied then deleted then put onto the computer not connected to the internet for storage. If someone needs the file they have to go through security personal "secondary security precaution" who retrieve the file and send it to the intended location encrypted

How would they stop people from accessing SIPRNET? The ip address and the protocol used to connect that's how. Yes they do have our internet and use some of the ip addresses you addressed in your post but critical information isn't sent over our internet its sent over SIPRNET.

I would use external drives..

One system sends information to another.
The "another" system has a loadingbay
of multiple drives.
When transfer is done you just undock the drive
and store it, "Lock it up".
No need for copy and paste..
And NO the drives doesnt have to be large.

*Someone* hacked the StratFor email servers and posted their findings to Wikileaks.org, as recent as 2011, as far back as 2004.

Some of them refer to Obama's ballot stuffing. Some refer to surveillance. Just read some of them.

Wasn't aware of SIPRNET but I knew about NIPRNET which we are able to access to an extent. I'd imagine that there are plenty of people with SECRET clearance that could leak information though. I'm gonna have to go look into it more. It's already proven that the data can get out even though it is secure. People are crafty!
