Anon continues to talk, but they refuse to back up any of these incredible claims... Just like wikileaks

There where many interesting Wikileaks revelations and there release has has massive affects on the world today. You can trace a route through WL, the first cyber war, the Arab Spring and the present occupy movement....

Told you so. picked up quiet a few page 20 news articles that had the hallmark of an anon attack all over it! (one against the un too)

and i've been saying this for awhile why have anon not released this yet if they truly are the freedom fighters they say they are?

What they claim is simply not possible. Claiming to have access to every classified database? For anyone that works directly with government networks and understands how information is compartmentalized among them (such as myself), this is nothing more than a laughable boast. Some of these guys that work with and help support Anonymous are incredibly smart and incredibly gifted individuals, but this latest claim of theirs is simply 100% untrue.

And no, "classified" does not cover every classification under the sun, as some have said. There are other official classifications such as "Sensitive" and "SBU (Sensitive but Unclassified)" that do not fall under the "classified" umbrella.

I was going to do a #PM2012 thread but decided against it.

There are a lot of things in the works for #TYLER. They are still working with some of the most interesting cypherpunks, hackers, and coders to get the website fit enough for release. They're rolling it out on a particular date for symbolism.

They are not releasing it beforehand, and if you see it released beforehand, and the source code isn't available, then it is a fake.

DHS seems to find it enough of a credible threat to have removed the original countdown website, although mirrors already exist for the countdown website.

Remind you of how WikiLeaks had to change service providers so often?

There's a lot of work that goes into this. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to "put up or shut up" when the most common means of providing leaked cables and e-mails are being hunted by the authorities already (i.e. pastebin).

Maximum impact will be key. If there aren't at least 50 threads posted here on ATS about items leaked on 12/21/12 then I'll eat my mask.

First off, "they" didn't make this claim. One fella who claims to be a member of a group without leaders made this claim.

12/21/12? So we gotta wait till after the end of the world to get our hands on the info? Damn, that blows.

People who ironically claim publicly to be anon, I don't put much faith in their words. They are mostly idiots, but they are useful tools I think

Pretty easy to find a scapegoat, when people are scapegoating theirself to try for their 15 minutes of fame

edit on Mon, 14 May 2012 18:28:56 -0500 by TKDRL because: (no reason given)

You don't have to worry about the end of the world. But...you're right. Someone claiming to be anon to a news source is a little less believable than me.

I'll concede that point - I could have worded that differently, but whether it be "they" or just "he" is pretty irrelevant. My point was just about the claim that was made, regardless of who made it, and how outrageously ridiculous it was.

The whole Anonymous thing is actually pretty fascinating. I do not condone or support the actions that they take against the government, but I do find their structure (or lack thereof) and effectiveness as something that can be learned from.

And once again there are a lot of ignorant fools mouthing off when they clearly know nothing about Anon other than what Faux news has told them.

I thought the motto of ATS was to "deny ignorance"? It certainly seems to me that many here seem to embrace it with open arms!

I'm not going to go into the list of what Anon has achieved since their existence began years ago. Because I have a feeling it'll fall on completely ignorant ears.

While Anon is seemingly a collective, there are going to be individuals within that collective who have control of information. They are not idiots, they have the support of WikiLeaks, which itself is an organized group which knows how to compile, research and then release information through the right channels.

Do you think they're likely to just dump all the files on a website for everyone to check out? Of course not. They're going to be duplicating it, disseminating it for security, studying it and organizing a controlled release through specific channels for maximum effect. For instance, you wouldn't be handing this over to Faux news, CNN or any other corporate news organization and expect it to be released unmolested.

If you wouldn't think of doing all of that, maybe that's why so many here are still sat on their ass watching the revolution and stuffing their face with cheesy snacks?

How about they divulge all the given data on ANY DUMB that is known to the public. It is a small measure if they in fact do have those bases.

It would put those who might have access to said info at risk before their help is truly needed.

well, if they're bluffing or not. they could get all sorts of money just to keep quiet... I mean- I hope they don't have anything... if they're this smart here in North America.. I would hate to see what could happen with hackers from a foreign country like china or japan (you know the places that properly educate their people). If these people could do this, and I am sure they're all brilliant- they could make billions selling information.
Oh well, this is why I am happy being a sheeple.

You guys are so funny. TRUE high secure FedGov machines don't have LAN, USB ports, e-SATA ports, or wifi adapters. All the bait machines have just enough security to provide confidence to the hacker that they really, really broke in to something important. You can't even wear a watch or rings when entering the space where the REAL high security machines are. Hollywood makes real security so easy. Read "The Art of War".

Hard to give money to people with no name. There aren't just Americans working on it.

If anon. has top secret info. from within the intelligence cabal, show the 911 file. You have a service to humanity to show us that, and if you do, they will love you for it. Until that time. zzzzzzzzzzz

Then this supposed in possession classified database is a play for power-by-illusion by Anonymous as it is only possible to have the real databases by armed takeover of the heavily armed couriers that transport the real data on hard drives. Hard drives that are destroyed with a dead man switch function if the courier does not attend to their requirements very often. I'm naive, funny.

A quote from the Bible, could well be considered the motto of Anonymous; at least in my own mind.

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.
-- Isaiah 11:6 (Emphasis mine)

Which big claims are you referring to?

I'd say the Stratfor email dump was incredibly useful and interesting.
