Hello everybody,

My story most probably resembles a lot of the people's on here. I've been browsing ATS for quite a while now and have been experienced this itch to start sharing my thoughts, reactions and insights to contribute in focusing in one direction which is learning/understanding the truth about the depth of our indoctrinated general culture and finding a real, permanent and final way to unplug from our imposed Capitalist shackled system.

This is how I view ATS.

Positive aspects:

Gives access to a lot of fresh, often astonishing alternative information.
This site is alive with fresh alternative information about areas of life one sometimes never thinks about. It helps to let light in where there was only darkness, knowledge where there was only ignorance.
PLEASE READ/ Ignorance often gets a very bad connotation and linkage to stupidity which is absolutely not the same. Very intelligent, gifted people can be completely ignorant about what is going on hidden in plain sight because of lack of interest or depth of indoctrination.

Offers a different perspective from MSM, Social Media,...
I have to give koodos to people who are making a clear effort to post non-MSM (Main Stream Media) information. Your digging is much appreciated!
One question though, has anyone ever stopped to think about how a provided source can truly be considered non-MSM in our 21st century media age and, where is the community's overall MISSION and VISION STATEMENT as well as VALUES? Yes ATS has its own 'website' MISSION and VISION etc. however this site wouldn't exist without its (figure from About section) 261.000 members. So what's the community's thought about this?

Really enthusiastic people with a common goal to release as much repressed and often taboo information onto the internet as possible.

Negative aspects:

It's a conspiracy website
A conspiracy website is in itself its own worst enemy. Why? As previously stated, people on ATS are looking for reassurance in some way and to find plausible explanations for odd and sometimes amazing events acting out around us yet a conspiracy is designed to never be truly revealed hence the mixture of true and false info. We are all cursed with one and the same "disease" called, lack of visibility and trust which ultimately keeps us in partial darkness.

Overstepping real human boundaries
As much as there are enthusiastic people talking and exchanging their ideas about many subjects, my time on ATS thus far has shown an increase in people who totally disregard other people's opinions and resort to direct or indirect attacks which, if the same situation were to take place in real life the outcome would be totally different.

Overly American connotation
Ok, I understand that ATS.com (commercial) is an American based website probably run by American admin with maybe a majority of Americans posting stuff however, the internet has given mankind a giant leap forward in human connectivity and still most posts I see here are about US this or US that. Listen, I know that the US is a super power in the world though with close followers such as India, China, Brazil, Russia, Australia just to name a few. Those countries, as an example, seem to come seemingly less in the ATS news, predictions, dreams, visions etc, than the US. Just a personal observation.

Ridiculously heavy mainstream (Google) advertising
For a website which describes itself as alternative, non mainstream... what's up with the ridiculously heavy mainstream (Google) advertising both in posts, top banners, side banners, inner banners,... We're fighting a rigged system yet ATS still promotes that system AND makes money off it .

Talking, reporting yet no real life action
I think that this point has been the catalyst for me to join and start writing. Often posts will include a sentence in the vein of "Someone has to do something about this" or "It's time we start waking up". I will talk about the latter in my first post. What exactly stops us from individually moving into action offline?! Most often used excuse will be that "I have no money to spend on this right now". Firstly, if you have been saving money to buy yourself a material good that is not an essential human necessity of life, you've got your values mixed up. Secondly, action doesn't have to be huge or on a huge scale to be significant. You're creative and have interest in design and self-expression?! How about creating meaningful stickers that you would just randomly paste on cars, walls, bus stop, mail boxes,... You are skilled in painting/drawing? Super, why don't you draw a realistic current view of the world (tyrants, disease, hope, love), copy your page 100X and distribute it in people's mailboxes or at the university. The point I'm making? We all have a gift that can influence people around us to unplug from the matrix. My dream is to get those minds together offline in order develop the first ever human think tank seeking to offer tangible solutions to our current problems through peaceful and creative action outside the imposed capitalist system we currently live in.

Thank you for your consideration, the time has come to free ourselves from those shackles.

Hi! Very nice, open and honest intro to say the least. Id like for this intro to get more flags than the guy with the "bald headed orb thread".

I wonder if the mods here will respond to using so much "google" on this website. I expect to hear that "we need the money or else you'll pay for it instead" whereas I'm sure there are alternatives..

So you didn't read it, or didn't see any suggestions for spreading the " word " off of the internet? I guess when the guy said we all have a gift and talent to do something..was just rant noise..ok

Itd be great if you added your "concrete" solutions to the mix. Instead of nothing basically.

I don't know how long you have perused ATS, but many have come and gone presuming to "fix" the staff and membership. Over the time I've been here, I have found there are more "active" and passionate people here than you might imagine. They just don't broadcast it everyday.

Try hanging around a while, and being part of the mix. I lurked for quite some time before I joined. And found that being a member, and being a lurker are two different animals.

I look forward to your input as a member.

I went back and read your non-intro OP again. You are not the first person to come blazing in with soapbox in hand, telling us how ATS can be so much better. It's amazing you accomplished to insult ATS in your very first post, in multiple ways. Yet, you still want to be a member here. Or, a leader?

You won't be the last person to come along thinking we can all be rounded up to follow your guidelines for what would make ATS a *useful* tool. You forget that ATS already is, an ever-evolving electronic entity.

I do Welcome you to ATS...I think you'll make some friends here....you won't take over the world, nor change ATS, but you will make some friends, and add yet another eddy in the electronic flow of this wonderful place.

Some extra things I can think off of the top of my head?
Personalized T-shirts, street art, writing a physical newsletter about the "Real state of our world" and distributing it in your neighborhood.

How about organizing a presentation in your community about different conspiracy subjects and advertise it the old way (sticking fliers under windshield wipers).
Do you have any engineering insight? Talk about the state of your local highways and bridges, how they are most likely near collapse and dangerous to drive on and how to easily and cost-effectively build them anew.
Do you have any chemistry insight? Get the ingredients for a dozen or so commonly used products. Most of those products will have at least the same amount of toxic ingredients for the human body.
Are you a musical artist? A well written song speaks to the heart so let your juices flow. If you are in a band which gives representations, just drop a "real news snippet" to your audience every night before you do your routine.
You are in Occupy movement? Why don't you move more towards corporate occupation movements in public places like Wallmart, McDonalds and a gazzillion other ones?!

I hope this will be enough for now, I will come back with more at some point or just keep an eye out for my upcoming posts like Germanicus said (Thank you) and you'll get even more possible solutions. Don't be shy to submit yours as well please!

Thank you very much for your reply, it is very much appreciated even though I'm in no way shape or form trying to "fix" the staff or membership on ATS. Who am I to attempt such a thing, right?! I don't know about you but I've felt a gaping hole here between informing others and taking real life action against injustice, deceit and just plain fighting back the oppression.

Yep indeed, that's an advantage of being a free member however I think we're so used to being bombarded with ads and pop-up ads etc that we don't even notice half of them. Challenge... try counting all of them to see how many you can come up with. Anyone else want to join on the ad searching quest? Perhaps make a balance of the ads shown to non-members vs. members to get a factual idea about the question?

Again, I really don't see how this is a non-intro OP but then again... your view is not mine so if my intro has not lived up to your standards, I genuinely apologize. I agree with most of what you have stated. Please don't think that just people on this site don't post our own "working against the system" projects.. For example I am working to expose my local county for using commercial property with in their recent county real estate tax assessment. I could go into more detail and I will when I get more information from the county and the tax appraisal firm, Wampler and Eanes. I am currently waiting to hear back from them through a mail I sent to our county treasurer and the real estate tax office. Then I plan to write something but first you need proof and then let the system unravel so more information can be gotten before the axe falls.


I have to laugh about this being a conspiracy site. My mother a Southern Baptist and I have lively discussions, putting it mildly, about our government, NWO and even 911. I visited her on Mothers day and she was depressed because she had read a series of article at www.raptureready.com titled “The Matrix” by Donna Wesson? She was not sure what to do because it bothered her that this conspiracy was so big that she doesn’t think that she can do anything about it.

No matter what I would say she discounted what I said until now since she read this article on that site.

Watch out because you'll only get more frustrated the longer you stay here. What you said about people complaining but not doing anything is exactly true. All the 'experts' with all the 'best ideas' and 'plans' come here to show their stuff but don't have what it takes to get out and protest or whatever. I had a very very long "discussion" with someone over this weeks ago. If someone can sit behind their computer and criticize OWS or protestors without being out their themselves, that person needs to go to hell, if there is such a thing. Nobody gives a poop about your "expert" high ground on the internet. The elite don't give a poop about ANYONE sitting around posting messages nit picking about exactly what the signs of OWS protestors should say. You can bet they ARE afraid of OWS doubling in size over the next few months. If that happened, they'd be hyperventilating right now.

So, that's it. I agree with you. This site is much like a circus too, with all the junk people post, and feeding the media trolls who just want to keep you entertained. I'll stop it here though.

As I said above. There are more members active outside of ATS than you might imagine there to be. You'll run across them, if you hang around a while.

Part of taking "real life action" IS informing others. Here at ATS, as well as family, friends, co-workers, and so on. It is an informed and analytical population that has the potential to turn the tide in this world.

But one needs to be cautious not to be the same as those we are fighting against. Our job is not to tell people what to think. The establishment already does that.

Our job is to help people think for themselves, to be analytical citizens, instead of taking everything the establishment, or the alternative media says at face value.

An informed population will become an active population that will fight because they understand what is at stake. Not because they're following the guy that sounds the most sincere or legitimate.

I totally agree with you and this is why under the current system of politics, economics, greed and money we will not have an overwhelming informed population unless additional offline action is taken IMO.
BTW, the guy that sounds the most sincere or legitimate... isn't that what politics is all about right now?! No one fully knows each political candidate's policies in full... people just go off of the face and genuine look of those people who will "play" a functional role as leader.

Ahem... welcome to ATS.

I would like to offer something more but I just can't find room to apologize for this being an American conspiracy website and visited by a lot of US based conspiracy theorists. In fact, I find anti-American sentiment as distasteful and most any other brand of bitterly polarized politics.

So, short of a big hug and a cold beer, I'll offer the following...

Patience. Diligence. Attention to detail. Respect for your fellow members.

Take the time to research your interests and then, when at all possible, avoid politics...

Look for good posts. Take your time, consider your replies.

Never assume the worst of a complete stranger.

Try not to stereotype... don't lump those strangers into groups so you can shoot them down.

ATS is like a window into a garden of humanity where the open mind is the path stones. Take advantage of the diversity. You won't find it many other places...

It is sort of cool that I am blind, especially when you consider how many adds I avoid due to the fact that I use a screen reader that talks. Although, I noticed that if I am not signed in, adds keep bumping the browsing carotback to the top of the page. It got really annoying.
