A couple of months ago, I was on a gaming website, and someone posted a thread regarding the weird noises. I tried to dig through the other website and came across this.

edit: im reading that apparently this video is fake, but it sounds just like the OP's video..

Whale sounds was my first reaction to many of the vid's on YT without with out the refining work.
I keep questioning why.

It's almost akin to a a group of, say, chefs discussing a problem with a car; each offer wildly different theories but none of them are mechanics and so it's all very moot.... and it really is.
By the same comparison, few people here have any great experience with the actual process of processing sound (ie, synthesis, EQ, time stretching, etc...) and are going to be oblivious when they're being fobbed off with what is obviously not a naturally occurring sound.

I personally believe the original 'horn' sound was engineered from a heavily processed vocal sample, intended for commercial use as a sound effect, to be included in Logic Studio.

Why would it just stop like that? This guy was obviously mixing audio clips into the original audio track.

Ok. The next you guys hoax one of these videos, don't forget to be extremely careful when you press the space bar, if you do it too loud they will know about it Even better, just don't send a video at all. When these debunkers hear a crazy sound for themselves we can troll them to death for it.

Well, there's no doubt that SOME of them are fake. I wouldn't claim that ALL of them are real anymore than I'd claim that ALL are fake. Let's face it, some people have a weird sense of "humor" and would try to re-enact such a thing.

That's an interesting theory actually. It might make some sense, considering that some animals are capable of mimicking sounds that they hear.

Dogs originally learned to bark because of humans that would shout at them when they misbehaved. I kid you not. This is true.

I have no doubt in my mind that these sounds are real. I'm not trying to debunk the sounds. I'm just trying to get these stupid YouTube hoaxes out of the way so we can concentrate on the legitimate sounds. People are reporting these all over North America and parts of Europe now. Scientists are investigating, and it's all over the news. I think these sounds are very real... but there will always be those who try to garner some attention by hoaxing.

I believe in these sounds, that they are actually happening. My theory: this is caused by the solar flares, double suns and "hole" in the sun we are hearing about. Some kind of resisitance is met when the energy from the sun meets our atmosphere.

Being a believer, absolutely I believe this is the beginning of the apocalypse. We are nearing "there." Who knows when the plug will be pulled but this is getting closer every day. Has to be...

The sound in this video is exactly like the sound from the Ukraine one. I'm gonna call it a fake.

Who knows though, just because this video has the same sound as the Ukraine one, doesn't mean the Ukraine one is fake.

Look dude, just because a some have been debunked doesnt mean others arnt real. If I want to attain salvation, would it be wise to go back to Walmart and return the pack of pantyhose, bottle of cooking oil, and DVD boxed set of Golden Girls that I stole last Tuesday? Don't ask me why I had them. I just want to know what I should do to make it better.

Like most I think some of the videos are fakes. Some may be school projects or just people goofing around and then some other person sees it and posts it on youtube as being real.

The real sounds I think are probably one of the following:

1.) Construction / Mining
2.) Thunder or Wind
3.) Earthquakes or stress in the earth's crust.
4.) HAARP
5.) Aliens
6.) The dead returning to life are moaning because they thought they were finished with this place. Now they are pissed off so as revenge they will hunt the living and eat us.
7.) All you people with your cell phones and fancy do-dads are screwing up the magnetic field.


Just a few guesses in no particular order.

This is my first post and I've been meaning to post for a while since I'm always reading/lurking.

There does seem to be something to these noises. I myself have had an experience of this noise. I live in London at it was 4am on a tuesday. I was asleep with my girlfriend and I was woken by a very loud and strange noise. I live near a tube station, a road, under a flight path, I've heard gunshots, car back fires, sirens, music, trains, planes etc etc - the point being I've heard a lot of different sounds. This sound was different and something I had never heard before. I was awoken and sat for about fifteen minutes listening to it while my girlfriend, who didn't wake, was getting more and more irritable as the noise continued on. I tried to rouse myself to ensure I wasn't in some sort of hypnogogic state. This noise was nothing like I'd ever heard in a city or a countryside (I have live/lived in both places). The sound was persistant, in that it didn't pass. For instance, planes and trains can create loud and strange sounds but you can hear the sound moving/passing. This sound seemed as though it was coming from a static source. As for weather, it had been mildly sunny all week and for the week after, no hints of rain or storms.

When I awoke the next day I thought about it properly and it was the archetypal 'ufo' sound you hear in alien doomsday films - not that I am saying that was the origin of the sound. But the way the sound persisted, as if it's source was static in the air, bothered me. About a month later on this site somebody uploaded a video of the "strange sounds" and I hadn't known anyone else had heard it. A lot of the videos or "sounds" were questionable and explainable, but a fair few sounded exactly like the noise I heard.

I am very sceptical about most things so I do approach this with caution and not some I-heard-it-it-is-a-ufo-it-is-this bull# attitude. But one thing I do know is that I have never heard something so loud, persistant, static and strange. I can still hear the vibrational/hovering noise I heard. Strange #.

Anyway, just giving my story.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, or sound travelling from the local pub doing an opera afternoon. I don't know why people are such suckers that everything "freaks them out". I put this type of thing down to people to easily wanting to believe the extraordinary while dismissing the ordinary.

Next trend will be "whispering trees" or "strange ripples on lakes". Must be true as it is on YouTube.

Like I said before there are too many people who say they hear it or have heard it for all of the videos to be hoaxes.

I live in Phoenix and a couple times I thought I heard a weird hum almost more of a vibration than a noise. Living in the city I just dismissed it as background noise I just wonder how many people have done the same thing if they live in a city and hear the strange sky noise.

I still can't believe poeple are posting these videos! Man the very very very very first one is KEIV is the only real one. It a real sound that has been created by the design of the buildings forcing the air to move quickly. Its the vibrations of the building and roofs. If you want the KEIV video you will see everytime the noise is on the clothes on the clothes lines are moving... People come on!!! Really Trumpets that only some people here?!?! Every video is a copy of the KEIV video all the sound has been used.. I not gonna get into anymore but seriously?! I know this is a site to argue peoples points back and forth. BUt are people that daft out here that actually believe there is a Trumpet of god playing and the person recording it or their friends with are the only people in the whole area to here it???? NOWAY... I believe in cover ups dont get me wrong.. but on the real you all.. this is a tired subject.... I have been a sound engineer for over 15 years trust me... those trumpets are copied from the KEIV video...

You know what this reminds me of? A Church choir, a choir full of grown men singing.
I have heard this sound before here in Peterborough in the early hours of the morning, and it sounds just like this!

So it's our planet making this sounds or the atmosphere?
Tell me then why those sounds can't be heard everywhere on the Planet. Why does it seem that 90% of those videos are created in either the USA or the UK. What's with the other countries? So far i've seen one video from Germany that was quickly debunked and one from Sweden that was also debunked as fake. I mean it's just not logically that the sounds are only happening over 2 countries.
Next question: If it's the atmosphere or the planet making those sound, shouldn't be a large part of the planet be affected and not always just one city or one forest at a time. And why does it seem to only happen in the evening/night?
It doesn't make any sense.

Believe it or not, not everyone runs to youtube when something weird happens to them. I don't, and wouldn't, because I haven't got time for the diaper-wearing mind-controlled idiots who love to debunk everything. I saw some UFOs in the sky twenty-five years ago. You want to say 'pics or it didn't happen'? Go do something. Use lube when you do it.
