looks like that character from starwars, that says Its a Trap!!!

To me it looks like the ghosted type image you get from a dirty rear view mirror and a reflection of someone in a front seat.

I'll explain it better..

When you get a smeared or dirty mirror the smear on the glass surface is reflected back by the mirror coating underneath, it creates a ghost image, also as the mirror is dirty on the glass its power to fully reflect someone in the front becomes degraded, again a ghostly image appears.

Add low light and bobs your uncle, well he's someone's uncle!

Whatever people think they are seeing I believe to be just part smear, part reflection..

I would not be so quick to dismiss this pic unless its a well done fake but just from what i can see in a brief glance I can detect the possibility of two faces....one face to the upper right hand side immediately behind the boys head then another face with a more fuller figurAny pic experts checking on this..

by the way im trained to work with teen young adults etc..

have u discussed with your son the nature of these monsters. If the pic is real u may show him making careful to let him know its safe.

Well, I don't know what it is. But I ran the image through a forensic error level analyzer and it didn't show any edit patterns whatsoever. The image is not contrived in any way. OP is telling the truth.

ok so the op is being straight than I think there is something there. That being a possibility ones world view or epistemology comes into play. Some will quickly say their are lovely guardian angels etc etc...

others might say their the greys etc etc while still others would argue aliens are demons etc etc...

All i can say is there appears to be two faces. The op should bear in mind the possibility these entities might not be friendly. op may broach subject with his kid in a "its no big deal hey buddy check these pics of you...hey wats that...kinda look like faces...haha....do you ever see anything like that like the monsters you were talking about"....etc etc. Make light but ask because it might not be a light situation. I'm just being honest...

To be completely sure this isn't some camera error (and I don't think it is), try taking a similar picture. Him in the seat, same passenger, and same setting. Use both the day and night positions for the rear view mirror, and see if you do get any odd reflection from that. If that's what it is, you'll get the same thing. I don't think that's the case, but it's always best to check all the possibilities first. If you can't duplicate it, then you can fairly consider other possibilities. That I can see two separate faces makes me believe it isn't just some odd effect from the mirror. Still, maybe take a couple of test shots, and post those to show what you get. Certainly, that eliminates the standard explanations, if you can't duplicate it!

Meanwhile, maybe make a record of anything at all unusual at home. Any reports of the "friend" your son talks about, the monsters he talks about, any odd noises, impressions of someone there, etc. Shades in the home, things moved, well, you get the idea. Don't discount feelings you might get, either, and I can't say enough to PRAY. Children can sense things adults might not. Really consider another dog, maybe a cat as well. Even if you don't think it's a worry, if your son felt protected by the dog, another one might help him feel safe. Small children can have real issues with fears at night. Keep us posted.

the double image of your son is the refraction of the rear vision mirror. You know when you flick it at night to dim the headlights behind you. The lens of the phone/camera was at the middle point where double image appears. As for the larger 'smudge', could be on the mirror that is refracted (like inside). try again with with same near angle. may be replicated.

i also now after looking at the picture for 20 plus mins on and off see 2 separate ghosts or whatever it is, the one the OP is on about at the back and if you look close just in front of it down to the left a little theres another face which seems more single face than the other that looks like its a few faces and an creature with an arm and long ears like rabbit ears pointed at ends drooping downward.

Has your child been baptised? if not go get it done by a priest, if yes still gosee a priest and ask for advice from them.

As long as the entity remains friendly, I'd just leave it be. It's pretty cool that you had the opportunity to confirm the existence of an imaginary friend. I guess that sort of thing should be taken more seriously, but it seems harmless in this case.

So, which one do you prefer?

You got what we call in ghost photography a partial apparition.

It's a smudge on the mirror, anyone saying otherwise is having a laugh/delusional.
Or maybe they have never seen a photo before and think its witchcraft.
