CIA thwarts new al-Qaida underwear bomb plot

news.yahoo.com

The CIA thwarted an ambitious plot by al-Qaida's affiliate in Yemen to destroy a U.S.-bound airliner using a bomb with a sophisticated new design around the one-year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden, The Associated Press has learned.
The plot involved an upgrade of the underwear bomb that failed to detonate aboard a jetliner over Detroit on Christmas 2009. This new bomb was also designed to be used in a passenger's underwear, but this time al-Qaida developed a more refined...

Could this really happen again? A new attempt to bomb us airlines again, but has failed, fortunately. Its not clear what happened to him yet. Details are just unloading. Could this be another government installment meant to scae us or justify the full body scanners? Hopefully we get much more valid information as time unravels.

I feel 105% safer..

The would-be suicide bomber, based in Yemen, had not yet picked a target or bought a plane ticket when the CIA stepped in and seized the bomb, officials said. It's not immediately clear what happened to the alleged bomber.

I'll tell you what happen to the guy...

Its not good..

Or he did not exist..

another booster shot of fear in an attempt to subjugate the masses. that's all this is. a fake operation so that people think the TSA have a reason to exist.

If that is the case whoever wrote the script and included "underwear" has some serious fetishes.

I wonder how we now live in a society that can say sophisticated, underwear, and bomb all in the same sentence. Is this the best Al-Qaeda can do? If this is supposed to strike fear in me, not so much.

Oh no! Another dangerous terrorist tried to blow up their tighty-whities.

Sorry, not buying it. That is probably the most inefficient and stupid way to blow something up. If it could go through the "body scanners", it could just as easily be hidden in a bag or briefcase and brought on board. The whole thing seems dumb.

I think the US desperately needs a "success story" to justify the enormous sums of money wasted, the loss of liberty and dignity at every airport, and the continued military presence in the middle east. So they made one up.

Me either. alCIAda has always been a tool of the CIA, they were the ones who funded them, taught them, and direct them - not conspiracy, history - anyone who doesn't believe me can look it up.

The CIA is out there reminding us they are keeping us safe from the bad guys (even if they have to recruit those bad guys).

Little doubt this is in the media to justify having the TSA thrusting their hands down our pants. We are supposed to abandon any ideas we had about having privacy as in the past. We are not to expect having any privacy in our own homes if we don't have any privacy in our shorts.

Because there are "terroriss's" in this world or that someone may light up a joint in their livingroom is justification enough that you and your children will be molested if you wish to travel and that your front door may get kicked in and the kids' cocker spaniel shot if you wish to relax in your home.

But you DO feel much safer now, right?

Right!

The mighty terrorist organization goes from killing 3,000 people in the largest terrorist attack on America soil to two failed attempts at blowing up planes using explosives in their panties. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

This just in:

After a more in-depth groping of the alleged Al Qaeda terrorist by the TSA, it was discovered the reported explosives were actually Pop Rocks.

There needs to be a waiting period of 20 days in order to do a background check on anyone buying underwear in the US, or planning to visit by plane, train, or automobile.

This may sound extreme, but the SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN IS AT STAKE! How can anybody argue with that, except a child killer.

I usually poop my pants before flying, and then act suspicious so they can check my underwear.
