SOHO down. "Emergency Sun Reacquisition" mode. Lost the Sun. Seismos down as well

is there a link to the magnetosphere images that's not the Japanese one?? i know i've looked at it before on a different site but i can't find the link. i read that the Japanese one goes blank like that and isn't always reliable.

More than 1,000 birds, mostly pelicans, have washed up dead along the northern Pacific coast in recent weeks, after many dolphins died in the same area.

It's either got something to do with the magnetic field, perhaps shifting or the nuclear waste from Japan. Either way it's NOT good news!

I saw that the other day. That's on the tail end of a mass dolphin death, to the tune of almost 1,000, I believe. There are also a few large fish kills being reported in other places as well. No matter what's going on, it's sad and unnerving.

I sent Phage a PM and got no response. Had me worrried until I seen you here Chad. No need for both of you here I assume is why no Phage. Just the same glad to have you, being of equal common sense knowledge and reasoning.

You guys are like a fail safe to these boards when people as knowledgable and respectable as Puderman get worried. It worries others like me bigtime. If it ever occurrred that both you and Phage couldn't help the anxiety ? I think these boards would fill with sheer terror.

Yes 1476 is one to watch, not exactly hiding though;

As for any correlation between these events I personally think its just coincidence.

You have to understand though that these physics of the Universe are only based upon OUR assumptions of the universe. I've had this belief for as long as I have thought about the universe that what goes on and around earth could be very different in another galaxy. We base all of our assumptions on earths minerals and earths elements yet we have barely scratched the surface of the universe. Scientists seek answers and although they may think they are right on most things because it works here on earth they could in fact be very wrong.

The answer is we just never know.

As for a planet sized ship, I agree that does seem very far fetched and even impossible. However, you have to also think outside the box. Just because us humans only live for about 100 years who is to say there is not another species who lives longer and has better technology? The only answer we can truly give is we don't know.

Personally though, I think these effects we are seeing by the sun are some kind of reflection or something to do with a solar flare since this is the only time we ever see them.

Assuming your talking about this footage, on March 12 the same date the Sun's magnetic field was reversed, which was around the same time this was caught on film. Does anyone have an explanation as to what it was?

Update: A minor CME was generated and may be Earth directed. Only minor geomagnetic activity is expected by May 10th.

Just kidding, in all seriousness though, I'm going to either side with coincidence or the possibility of there being some major flare activity going on. What I don't understand is if it's a solar flare it's most likely not going to harm us as biological creatures, correct? It will definitely shut down our technology but that's not enough cause to hide anything from the public. I don't think someone is going to kill themself just because their iPhone is going to be fried.

No, I just mean, do you think the increasing quakes in WA and off the coast of Oregon are all related in some way and, if so, that activity could either be spurred on by volcanism or as a result of volcanism? If so, maybe that's why the monitors have been down? Wouldn't be the first time monitors have been pulled or data erased in order to either prevent panic or people from connecting dots and confirming any sort of pattern of activity.

I suppose very very rarely i get bitten by the conspiracy bug as well, but to answer the first part the volcanism is as a result of the subduction zone so you could say that in fact the activity off Oregon and around WA is connected and would eventually result in the volcanism.

It is a very large area (the faulting/subduction) and can produce Mag 9 earthquakes, but I doubt if those would set off the volcanoes (but you just never know as it has been shown that this can happen)
