I'm just wanting to get some feed back on what you guys think of this question. Are we the aliens? Believe it are not but I have been wondering if we are aliens.Think of this when the human race evolved and wiped out those people in the ice age because we had better knowledge and were fit to run quicker and we were just better in all.So I think when Mars got messed up we managed to come here to earth and keep on living but then why would we not be super advanced? Its a stupid question but what do you think?

Haven't you seen the movie Mission to Mars. Pretty much what you just said. Also, I'm pretty sure this idea has been posted before.

It could be probable that a meteor crashed to this planet which contained microbial life which is what evolved into us...humans...yeah. Perhaps WE wiped out the dinosaurs

200,000 years is a lot of history (of which we barely know 10,000).

I've often thought that such a scenario might be the case. It would certainly explain the sudden appearance in S Africa, an obvious desire to migrate worldwide plus the entire mystery of increased creativity obvious in the Transition.

I'm not saying I buy into the idea, just that it's a distant possibility.

It could be possible but whats the need really? I mean if microbial life was what formed humans why did it have to come from a meteor that killed the dinosaurs. Why would it have not just been the microbes that already existed on earth. I know it was just a thought but Im just providing some constructive criticism

We share too much DNA with other beings here on earth. We also share things with other beings on earth, like eyes, our rough arm/hand design, internal organs, hair, generals, reproductive method, digestive system, and even more. I don't think it's plausible, life would have evolved very differently on another planet, evolution is down to chance. We definitely shared a common ancestor with other things on this planet.

Just another twist on your thoughts, if I may?. Ive often wondered if we were a type of convict, sent to earth. Could explain our lack of knowledge & technology. Maybe needing to learn how to live as descent humans
.

Well that's not really true. I watched the "Trough the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" about what aliens would look like. They pointed out the fact that its not all down to chance. In fact it would be quite plausible that things would evolve similarly.

I don't doubt that we share a common ancestor on this planet. But life could evolve with very similar traits..

They went into the specifics of things like lever-action limbs. Life varies dramatically on earth so it would be very dramatic on another world. But the animals of earth do share common traits that seem to be popular in evolution.

At one point a scientist on the show even said "If you imagined aliens as reptiles that walk on two legs and have two eyes, you may have been right."

Maybe.... but even if all of us aren't, I think there are hybrids who walk the earth among us.

I actually think we've devolved, from some time in the past where things were way better than this. So where we came from if that's true could literally be anywhere. Also think that we're all Aliens in the sense that our souls go from place to place every so often, so we've already been all over the place. (reincarnation according to what tasks we've been set to do, learn, and that some of us choose. Some of us must've been brave and/or insane to have chosen this place though.)

If only we could recover our memories from beyond this life.

I rather like that idea. If I was given a choice during reincarnation, I would have totally picked earth despite how horrible it can be. I would have picked it because I wanted a challenge. I also see that the more horrible things there are, the more amazing the good things are. I wouldnt change my situation for anything. Well almost anything.....

I'd definitely change mine. I'd rather be an Alien out there, causing some serious hassle to get something done about this planet.

Well I've never thought of the criminal element per-say but it does sort of coincide with my theory
that we were/are the planet for the insane. I suppose that would include the criminally insane too.
Some genetic flaw that was/is being let to run it's course.

Yes it is true. And yes, things may evolve similarly, but not as close to what we have in common with other things on this planet. Evolution is based on chance, because mutations are based on chance.

Well according to your idea you wouldn't have changed it. You must have been crazy and brave because you picked earth

Oh I see what your saying. Very true. But, if you were sophisticated enough could you not influence those mutations or control them.

Or could you possibly have set the course of the mutation in the first place. Im sure that would require immense amounts of computing power and complete understanding of predicting mutation but Im just thinking aloud here

The planet of the insane, or criminally insane... Got to wonder how we are going in this area. From what im reading it might not be long before we find out where, who or what

If you can edit your DNA and then produce offspring, and then they produce more offspring and so on, then yes.
I think humans will get to this point in the not so distant future.

Ah I don't think we always have the choice. It kind of depends what state we were in before we arrived here I think, and whether or not we'd been causing trouble earlier on. It could equally be a punishment or a lesson that we've been willing to learn, grudgingly gone ahead with, or been kind of made to learn. Or it could be compassion for other beings, and/or probably many other things. So I think how we arrived here is open to all types of possibilities.

And that's just arriving here, without even mentioning all the difficulties we might face trying to stay on our paths. Doesn't seem too far from chaos actually in some ways, but maybe that perception is due to our limited awareness.

If youre a believer in the Lyran-Orion War theory, ala Battlestar Galactica, then yes we are the aliens, refugees from an interstellar war

Approximately 22 million years ago, in the constellation of Lyra, the first humanoid races started exploring other systems in their galactic vicinity, and soon afterwards ventured into migration and colonisation of neighbouring planets. It didn’t take long before they came across other humanoid races. Shortly afterwards they had their first encounters with non-humanoid races. Soon after that, conflicts over territory and spheres of influence erupted. Within the Lyran constellation the first clashes were between the Lyrans and the Vegans. Things got worse when the Lyrans and the Vegans encountered reptilian civilisations in what those reptilians considered their territory. (The Ring Nebula in Lyra was one of the first heavily contested areas of conflict). When the warring parties started involving ideologies into the conflict, two main groups emerged. There was the Federation, and there were the two Empires, the Draconion and the Orion Empire. The whole of the constellation of Orion would become the main battleground where they would fight out their differences. Because of this, the Galactic Wars are often referred to as the Orion Wars. See Orion Wars for more information.
